Some of the horror today. We are all bruised and sore. This should never have happened before police arrived. Some of these trees were TPO'd before but Townsend Yard Limited developers made sure they were taken off. whose side is @haringeycouncil on? Developers or its citizens?

Really sad that @IKEAUK are closing our Tottenham store. Would love to know if its an IKEA decision or @EnfieldCouncil forcing them out? If you want to go 31st August is the last day. Sad for consumers & all the workers there. We've heard that Tesco is closing there too.

This is such an inspiring & important project. Free wild swimming, close to Tottenham, what's not to like! Resident-led @ELWaterworks want to buy the govt-owned site on the polluted River Lea, turn it into a “brownfield rainforest”, w free pools, anaerobic digester, cafe & more.

This isn't an anti-pollution boom. It's a sign the authorities have failed the River Lea. The contamination flows down the Pymmes Brook constantly. Into the Lea, Thames & beyond. A failure of regulation by the Environment Agency.

New: Government u-turns on sewage amendment. Says the Environment Bill will be further strengthened with an amendment that will see “a duty enshrined in law to ensure water companies secure a progressive reduction in the adverse impacts of discharges from storm overflows.”

I'm furious about this. We peers put in protection for chalk streams, rivers and our beaches to protect them from the dumping of raw #sewage. Did your MP vote to take out that protection? If so, tell them how you feel!
