We are currently responding to incident V61401, located approximately 9 kilometres north of Sooke near East Sooke River with three initial attack crews and three helicopters providing bucketing support. Response officers, local fire departments and CRD staff are also on scene.

Information Update from the RCMP related to recent black bear sightings in Sidney: The BC Conservation Officer Service has been responding to the situation and the bear is currently being relocated off of the Saanich Peninsula.

Pat Bay Highway is down to single-lane traffic southbound between McDonald Park Rd and Beacon Ave due to an incident involving three vehicles. The RCMP, Sidney Fire, and BC Ambulance are on scene.

Hope to see you at this Thursday's parade (Feb 8th) recognizing the 80th anniversary of the 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron. The parade starts at 10am at the Mary Winspear Centre and will run along Beacon Avenue to Town Hall. It will include a CH148 flypast!
