@AutoInfatuation @tooley444 X3 F25 2016 - just changed all 4 tyres as 4 different treads on each. Now have a judder at 70mph - been told it’s a transfer box is now gone due to tyre treads - £2.6k supplied, fitted 😳

@tooley444 This is what I keep getting told and now starting to believe with my current issues.

Anybody want to buy a set of part worn 20” Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres in staggered form? Barely done 2,000 miles if that….🤦‍♂️🛞 TL:DR - Need more tyres, getting fed up with BMW X-Drive essentially 🥲 My BMW Indi rang regarding my jolting issue as he’s had the car all week whilst I’ve been away. I’d trust him & his word with anything BMW related over BMW themselves to give you an idea. I told him he has free reign with it this week, take home if needs be just work out what’s wrong. It’s definitely the X-Drive box that is causing the issue but is not actually faulty, previously I had non-star rated but very high quality tyres on when this issue begun. Both axles would feel like the power transfer didn’t know where to be and ultimately like the gearbox didn’t know what was happening all the way up to 75/80mph, totally ruining the experience of what is a magnificent car in day to day driving. Both BMW & my Indi said the first thing is ⭐️ rated tyres that need to be installed. So reluctantly I did that, or so I thought. When I turned up to the garage to have the new tyres put on both the rears were on top of the stack, both I see had the BMW star on so I didn’t feel like I needed to look any further. Tyres on and instantly I could tell the issue hadn’t gone completely but it was now only the front wheels freaking out. This should have rung alarm bells now I look back but I assumed the X-Drive box now needed an oil change or worst case replacing to fully fix it. Fast forward to today and it turns out my fronts aren’t actually star rated at all, somehow I’ve never noticed that but the worst thing is they aren’t even an option in that size as BMW Star rated!!! I’m hoping to have some kind of recourse with the garage that sold me them but realistically I need a whole matching set of BMW ⭐️ tyres again and unless I buy SuperSports the Michelin aren’t an option 🙃 I am still going to have the whole 1 Litre of X-Drive oil flushed and changed as a precautionary measure but this is really starting to do my head in now, adore this car but have learnt an expensive lesson in the year I’ve had it 🥲
