@Juliedonuts @libsoftiktok @Travis179069263 @Aetna You can get this negotiated down and get them to cover it. Technically in a life threatening situation, an ambulance ride has no “network”. I’m a broker I help people all the time. Lmk if you need some help with this Julie.

Last week I randomly got a $9,000 bill for a hospital visit from last year. I called them up and they said my insurance decided not to cover it. Why? Because. .@Aetna can just decide they’re not interested in covering something and then you’re left with an inflated bill to pay out of pocket after the fact. This is in addition to a $2,000 bill that I already paid. They just don’t want to cover it despite me paying a monthly premium. Meanwhile illegals get free healthcare. Honestly fuck you @Aetna. I’m gonna do everything I can to destroy you.

It's been 7 months since we had our baby and we're still receiving unexplained hospital bills in the mail. Hardly ever an adequate description of services. Just a QR code to pay online. It feels intentionally confusing and difficult to get answers. We want price transparency.

I love when millennials are like "omg, I can't understand Gen Z." Yeah, no shit, that's because we're in a different generation.

If doctor doesn’t do doctor work, where does the doctor money come from to pay for things while doctor is at home? What’s this imaginary world people live in where doctors can afford to just not work for a year? Point me to the doc job with a year of paid leave quickly please!
Alexis 🪬@AscendWithLex

@pagingdrsank Stay home with your child. No infant should be in daycare. You're an MD. You can afford it for at least a year.

@XGuy64007 @thecavemommy I agree, but with insurance it’s always good to review with a professional. The only way to fix it is to force transparency. Allow people to see wha something costs between facilities/doctors. Some of these group plans are outrageous!!

@tpatfeld @thecavemommy More affordable maybe and that’s great. You can do that. I’m still arguing that’s still an outrageous price. Like my point isn’t what you’re doing it’s like the price of healthcare overall.

Everyone keeps saying this like the reason we chose not have insurance is because it’s affordable and we’re just irresponsible. As previously stated, insurance from my husbands employer is $2,000 A MONTH. We would quite literally be homeless if $1,000 a month was taken out of his paychecks, we could not afford other bills. If one of our kids got a horrible diagnosis(IN THE NAME OF JESUS I WILL NOT WORD CURSE MY CHILDREN OR MY FAMILY), we would literally be better off him quitting his job and going to work in fast food so we would make little enough to qualify for Medicaid, or just pay hospitals bills a few hundred a month till we die. This is the state of our health care system. It is utterly broken for any lower middle class healthy people (which is the majority of Americans).
Christian Budd@ChristianBudd17

@thecavemommy She had an 8k bill for a relatively small issue. Now do cancer and let us know the bill. You can get absolutely wrecked by a major thing, that’s why people have insurance.

We were required to have the social skills needed to pick up a phone in front of our own family and call the home phone at our buddy’s house, talk to their mom, ask to speak to their kid, wait for them to come to the phone, and then we had to talk to them stuck to a cord in the hall by the kitchen. It was gloriously awkward.

@HB1934C this is where I’m at and it's so sad and depressing. I’m seeing a trend like that throughout our friendship and the issue is being forced now. It's so hard to make friends and we get along so well otherwise. it just sucks. ty for the advice though it's true even if I hate it lol

my friend wants everyone who meets her baby to get the tdap vax but I’m only 21 weeks pregnant and didnt want to get it at all. any risk even minor of preterm birth, miscarriage, or iugr is not worth it to me. how do I decline without blowing up our already tenuous friendship?

@XGuy64007 @thecavemommy Yes. It’s a fraction of what she’s paying now. It has a $0 deductible. It has upfront benefits. It’s a lot less than what they are paying now and the plan works for every doctor in the country weather they are on the PPO net work or not. So, yes, yes I do
