$292M vanished in minutes through one bridge glitch. EEZ is the one upgrade that actually kills the problem for good. Last week’s Kelp DAO disaster was brutal: $292 million in rsETH drained in minutes through a LayerZero bridge. No smart-contract bug on Kelp. No reentrancy. Just one “phantom” cross-chain message. Ethereum thought Unichain had sent a valid packet. It hadn’t. A single verifier got fooled, the bridge released real tokens, and the attacker walked with the cash. That’s not bad luck. That’s the standard bridge model working exactly as designed: async messages, external verifiers, lock-and-mint mechanics. Every big bridge hack in history (Ronin, Wormhole, Harmony…) follows the same script. Bridges are DeFi’s single biggest attack surface. @etheconomiczone is the first real attempt to kill that surface for good. Built by Gnosis and Zisk with Ethereum Foundation funding, EEZ doesn’t add another bridge. It removes the need for one. Rollups inside the zone become synchronously composable with mainnet. A contract on an EEZ L2 can call a mainnet contract (or another EEZ rollup) in the same atomic transaction. No packets. No nonces. No wrapped tokens sitting in a bridge contract. Everything either happens together or reverts together, secured directly by Ethereum L1. It’s not marketing fluff. It’s the architectural fix we’ve needed since L2 summer started fragmenting everything. Ethereum already solved scaling. EEZ solves the fragmentation that came with it — without keeping the bridge risk that keeps draining hundreds of millions. This is the right next move. Not more chains. One unified economic zone. One Ethereum again.

The Ethereum Economic Zone
The Ethereum Economic Zone@etheconomiczone·
Welcome to the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ), a framework for synchronously composable rollups. What does that mean? One deployment. Shared liquidity. Single transactions across L1 & L2. Identity verified anywhere. Smart wallets connected everywhere. No additional trust assumptions. This means L2s that are as credibly neutral, economically aligned, and publicly governed as the base layer itself. EEZ furthers Ethereum as the leading decentralized economy.

BIP-361: Post Quantum Migration and Legacy Signature Sunset.

"Looking across 46 different country ETFs since the start of the Iran war, the global picture looks far more resilient than headlines and the chattering media's pundits would suggest. Nearly half of the world's major markets -- 20 out of 46 -- have already fully recovered their initial losses, even with the conflict still ongoing." - @psarofagis
