@deanbphillips I’m pro Trump and pro ICE, but this is problematic if true. I’m willing to break from my tribe on this issue if this is happening. I’m well aware of what’s at stake, but I don’t buy into the “ends justify the means” That’s how we got the Patriot Act.

🚨 BREAKING: Minnesota Sen. Michael Holmstrom (R) is calling on Hennepin County Judge Sarah West to UNSEAL the documents in the case where she OVERTURNED a jury’s guilty verdict. Abdifatah Yusuf was found guilty of stealing $7.2M from taxpayers in the Medicaid fraud scheme.

@Pallas221 @GrageDustin @MichaelH_MN I’m pointing out that the decision is available. Folks should read it. Even without knowing the contents of the sealed exhibit, the decision to overturn is very weak. She acquitted because she thought the evidence was all circumstantial. That’s not uncommon in a fraud case.

The public has a legitimate interest to review the basis of the judge’s decision, which rendered a judgment of acquittal, thereby overriding the jury’s guilty verdict. That basis is the sealed Exhibit. She provided no legal basis to seal this Exhibit. She is shielding only her judgment.

@GrageDustin @MichaelH_MN Folks should take time to read the decision. It’s on MCRO. 50+ pages but worth it. I downloaded it earlier this week. Very weak. I offered to send it to Dustin and didn’t hear back, but I’m guessing he gets a lot of DM’s.

@GrageDustin @MichaelH_MN . . and this corrupt judge sealed the documents so that no one could review her unethical decision to enter a judgment of acquittal, despite the overwhelming evidence of guilt. She needs to be investigated, for potential criminal behavior on the Bench, as a sitting judge.

@BrickmanInGA @mjfree I think folks would be surprised how common it is. I’ve been an election judge for a decade. A lot of folks spend 30 seconds or less on the ballot. I’m assuming they are only voting the top of the ticket, though I could be wrong. This is especially common with younger voters.
