Clayton Kershaw closed his opening remarks at his retirement press conference with his favorite Bible verse. "Colossians 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as you're working for the Lord, not for men."

The Rays have signed RHP Trace Phillips to a $629,200 deal as an UDFA. He ranked as the No. 190 prospect on the BA 500. I believe that's the second largest UDFA bonus ever.

FOR ALL THE LITTLE GUYS 💪💥⚾️ 11 years old, 4 foot 8 inches, 70 pounds. Those were Eston Snider's (@SniderEston) measurables in August of 2014 as he stood beside 12-year-old Erick Figueroa (6'4" 229 lbs.) from Puerto Rico at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It's one of my favorite photos I've ever captured. What if I told you..... What if I told you on that day in August of 2014 that the little 4'8" guy would go on to be a NCAA Division I player for the MTSU Blue Raider Baseball team? What if I told you he would be a 4-year starter (182 games), have a career .315 batting average, collect 230 hits, 39 doubles, 16 home runs and 63 stolen bases? What if I told you he'd save the best for last, hitting .346 in his senior year, starting all 53 games with 72 hits, 16 doubles, 6 home runs, 34 RBI, 22 stolen bases while sporting a .993 fielding percentage (just one error in 144 chances) in center field? What if I told you he's even better off the field, earning All-Academic Team honors for Conference USA two years in a row as a business management major and launching his own podcast this year called Sons of the Lamb (available on YouTube, Apple & Spotify)? Eston Snider did all of that. He never grew to be the biggest. Today, as a 22-year-old senior, Eston is 5'9" 180 lbs. What he didn't have in size he more than made up for with his grit, determination, mindset, will to win and a genuine interest in making everything and everyone around him better. Are you a late bloomer? Have you been told you're too small or too short? Don't listen! Don't give up! Keep grinding! Keep working! The best is yet to come! "The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7 Blessings, Brent High ***NOTE*** Eston was one of Houston High's teammates on the 2014 South Nashville Little League team. Eston's Dad, Dwayne Snider, played for Lipscomb Baseball at Lipscomb University. @MTSU @LittleLeague @mt_baseball @BaseballAmerica @d1baseball @KP_Omaha @Kreager @MLB @BisonBaseball @LipscombBisons @lipscomb @Sports_Spectrum #collegebaseball

HE’S BACKKKKKKK! After missing multiple weeks, Trace Phillips is back in the lineup for #MTSU and playing first base. Phillips was Second Team All-CUSA last season with a .303 batting average, 13 home runs, 47 RBIs, and a .907 OPS.
