Meet the 33 trailblazing startups joining the second Gemini Startup Forum: Cybersecurity. 🔒💻 This September, these global startup teams will take part in a unique two-day, in-person event in London that offers them a chance to engage in forward-thinking dialogue with AI experts from @Google. Participants will collaborate directly with experts from across @GoogleDeepMind and @GoogleCloud to explore how AI will redefine the cybersecurity landscape. Founders will leave not just with insights, but with a tangible, actionable AI roadmap for their cybersecurity startup. Learn more about the cohort in our blog: goo.gle/4vfbEc5

🎙️Episode 5 of Canaries in the Wild is now live with Ollie Whitehouse, CTO of the UK's @NCSC. Ollie has spent 23 years in and around deception – from running personal honeypots in 2002, to catching state adversaries and a criminal zero-day at a previous employer, to now leading NCSC's national-scale cyber deception programme. In this episode, Ollie makes the case for deception as one of the very few asymmetric tools available to defenders, walks through the why and what of NCSC's national programme, and shares his view on how AI is changing the picture for both attackers and defenders. Watch the full episode linked in the comments!👇

AI agents move through cloud environments faster than any human attacker, and faster than most teams can respond. In our research, they reached admin in an average of just 14 minutes. This changes what defenders need to prioritise: not just preventing every breach, but detecting and containing the ones that get through, fast. Nick Reva joined Sam Cox and Alessandro Brucato to talk through what that means in practice. 🎥 Webinar on demand in the comments 👇

Excited to share our Perimeter Sensors Challenge! We built it to put our new Perimeter Sensors to the test. The scenario: you’re an attacker who has just stolen a set of credentials. Try to use them, and see if you can tell whether you've hit a real login portal or one of our canary sensors. If you accidentally touch a canary, it’s game over. Channel your inner pentester and try the challenge. Try it here: tracebit.com/perimeter-chal…

Today we’re excited to announce the launch of Perimeter Sensors! 🚀 Included are canary services such as login portals and API endpoints, hosted on your own domain, alongside canary credentials pushed organisation-wide. This means that when credentials are stolen, included within them could be canary credentials, indistinguishable to an attacker from real ones. The moment anyone attempts to login using a canary credential against one of these services, an alert fires with the source IP, JA4 fingerprint, and the exact credential used. Every login page in your company can now be a trap, and the attacker can't tell which. Read more on the blog - links in the comments 👇

How do you respond to an attacker that goes from low-privilege access to admin in minutes? In our research, AI agents tripped canaries with roughly 8 minutes of lead time before their first critical action. Not long, but enough to act on if you have a high-fidelity signal telling you something is wrong. Sam and Nick on what that means for response teams. 🎥 Full webinar in the comments👇
