I promised to pick the NHS up off its knees and that's exactly what we're doing. I’m proud that this year, the NHS has now delivered 5 million more appointments than last. This Labour government is building an NHS to be proud of.

I remain gravely concerned by today’s welfare announcement, to put it mildly. Cutting social security for disabled people will only deepen poverty and inequality. This wasn’t in our manifesto and it isn’t what people voted for when they elected a Labour government.

Cutting PIP and disability benefits is cruel and misguided. These payments help disabled people work, stay mobile, and live with dignity. Calling these cuts “reassuring” is an insult - many constituents have told me they’re terrified. This must not happen.

@Councillorsuzie NHS fleet and other company fleet cars offer this as an incentive and/or tax/NI relief meaning you can get a car which you would not otherwise be able to afford to purchase. Your car is changed every three years. What is your real point…..

The penny has dropped, there are a couple of families I know that replace their cars every three years, to be honest I’ve always wondered how they can afford to. Now I expect I know…..

The Prime Minister was unable to answer a simple question today about why a disabled person who needs help to eat, wash and manage toilet needs could no longer get PIP under his proposals. The Government must drop this cruel proposal or it’ll face the mother of all rebellions.
