Some lessons, some changes & the hopefully bouncy future of some $balls I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what is the best direction to take $balls in the future. We’ve had a.. very expensive balance sheet compared to the revenue trading fees have generated, and with our transition to sharing trading fees with holders it’s now more unsustainable than ever. One of the products to come from studio that I have loved the most has been @MilkMoneyBot and the guys over there. Forward thinking, planning and flawless execution for months on end. They have one focus, revenue, and as much of it as possible. There is 0 focus on bringing in new people, they let the money speak for itself. This attitude has allowed them to thrive in a hostile environment, and they stay focused on the mission letting the community reap the rewards and therefore naturally spread the word So instead of throwing the treasury (my bank balance) into the void in the hopes that some motion catches on, it’s time to stop hitting our heads against a brick wall hoping for a different result and make some changes, because if we do not learn from the successes of others we are failing ourselves. From today, the $balls treasury will no longer be spent on any buybacks of tokens. Over the next month or two we will be trialling different revenue streams, using funding that otherwise would’ve been a one shot of liquidity to sell into, to instead try and create a sustainable inflow of liquidity. So the current revenue stream plan will enter a 3 way split. This will be across: 1) Rebuilding our treasury position to allow for more marketing expenditure 2) Buybacks of $balls allowing us to begin to accumulate supply in a more sustainable way than just attempting to bully Wassie into buying another 1% lmao 3) Bonus distributions for stakers of $balls allowing those who stick with us for the long run to directly benefit outside more than just price action We’ve begun to reshape our treasury positions in preparation for this, and will hopefully be able to share more soon enough with some new LP’s coming into action. This will be a slower process to get moving, but it’s clear that our current efforts simply aren’t enough. The market desires something more substantial so it’s time to build what the market wants. It’s time to make some change 🤝
