Cameco Co $CCJ is in BIG FUCKING TROUBLE. After cutting guidance, their earnings were blah. Then when you dig into the fine print... they're in trouble. They were forced to buy more spot uranium than they sold because of aging infrastructure and supply chain challenges. 1/

Kazatomprom is basically forced into a 20% supply cut across ALL Kazakhi mines because of their trouble with relying on Russian rail lines or port as well as a shortage in sulfuric acid. The uranium spot price is running because of shortages which is bad for Cameco cash flows.

In 2024, they are forecasting 22.4 million lbs of production but I doubt they will be able to hit that. They're planning to purchase 2 million lbs of U308 on the spot market which is rallying hard. On top of that... 3/

BREAKING: An American warship and multiple commercial ships are under attack in the Red Sea according to the Pentagon. The warship is reportedly the USS Carney. “We’re aware of reports regarding attacks on the USS Carney and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and will provide information as it becomes available,” the Pentagon said. The British military made a statement earlier, presumably about the same incident saying there was a drone attack and explosions in the Red Sea.
