Much-needed rain approaching from the west this morning. A cold front will advance east over the area today, keeping it rather active on the shower/storm front. A few strong storms can't be ruled out; severe weather is not expected, however. Once the front passes around mid-morning, winds will shift out of the northwest, ushering in a much colder air mass. Readings in the low to mid 70s early on will plummet to the 40s by ~5-6pm. If you have outdoor plans for today, it'd be a nifty idea to have a rock-solid, indoor backup plan in place. We'll be monitoring throughout the day. Breezy winds hang around Sunday, with sunshine reclaiming the skies. It'll be a beauty, albeit the wind, with highs holding in the low to mid 60s. Y'all stay safe and dry this weekend!

Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims in Eastern Kentucky. Many friends from the area have been sending pictures and sharing the stories. So sad to see the devastation in communities that were already trying to recover from the last natural disaster. My heart breaks for the 14 people who lost their lives, may they rest in peace. Ellen and I will be making a donation to Governor Beshears relief fund. We may no longer be residents of Kentucky but know the power of the community and what they can do when they come together.
