“The Sermon on the Mount offers a detailed description of this surpassing righteousness. This righteousness is necessary for entering the kingdom of heaven… Mere verbal confession of Jesus as Lord is not enough. True disciples will demonstrate the sincerity of their submission to Jesus by obedience to his teachings.”

Wondering which electives to take during your MDiv? We asked Dr. James Hamilton, Professor of Old Testament Interpretation and Biblical Theology, which electives he would choose, and why they matter for ministry now. Who should we ask next?

@RettCopple Murderous but not murdering. Drunkard but not drinking. Adulterer but not cheating. Thief but not stealing. Homosexual but celebate. None of them make sense.

There really isn't a Christian category for "gay but celibate," much less a pastoral one. If you repented of homosexuality, that's about the least-gay thing you could possibly do. If you are discipling someone who has repented of homosexuality, allowing them to still think of themselves as "gay" in an attempt to minimize the destructiveness of same-sex attraction, is leaving provision for the flesh. Paul says, "and such were some of you," past tense. They are no longer gay, even if that upsets the progressive dogma you have to maintain in exchange for upward mobility.

I’m just going to say it and I know I’ll get some hate for it, but v14.2.2.5 is the worst FSD release since v14. Constantly in the wrong lane, a lot of weird maneuvers, so many additional nav errors, routing, speed control, parking, and that’s just to name a few. v14.3 cannot come soon enough.

John Thune has destroyed every single Senate norm that he claimed to cherish. He set a far bigger and more dangerous precedent than abolishing the filibuster.

If your pastor isn’t teaching you that the rapture is real, a third temple will be built in Jerusalem, the tribulation is a real event, and that there will be a 1,000 year reign under Jesus on earth, then you need to find a new church.

@farzyness What planet are you on? Government cannot effectively help. Companies do not show goodwill. We’re going to have an ultra depression that will lead to total unrest.

The self-correcting mechanism in a free market is prices coming down by a lot - which means industry that didn't previously exist will be built on top of the lower costs. If there's mass unemployment due to the AI, it's because AI can do the same job for a lower costs. Lower costs mean higher profits. Higher profits means more room to lower prices. In a competitive environment, that means prices will come down, because companies that want higher market share will be able to to pull that lever due to higher efficiencies (ie profits) from AI. The big question is the speed of the unemployment relative to the creation of new industry. If unemployment happens faster than new industry, we'll have societal unrest. If it's equal, then we're good. If new industry is faster than unemployment, then it's a golden age. From where I stand, it's becoming quite obvious that AI will eliminate jobs much faster than it will create in the next 5-10 years or so. It's unrealistic to think that a majority of people who will be laid off due to AI will turn around and start their own ventures leveraging the same technology that displaced them. But over time, the number of "jobs" or opportunities AI will create will be "bigger" than the number of jobs it eliminates. When transportation, labor, and energy costs plummet by 80% of more, Jevons Paradox will kick in, which will lead to an explosive growth in industry. That industry will be unlike anything we've seen before - businesses that come to you instead of you going to them. Hyper-fast and super-cheap delivery of goods through autonomous drones, cars, trucks, planes, and boats. Near-free energy & near-free high quality food due to hyper-efficient solar energy and super-cheap humanoid robot labor harvesting crops. But it's gonna take a while to get there. The transition period will be rough. There are three ways which the transition can be made better: 1. Governments step in and provide UBI/retraining/safety nets for those that are displaced 2. Corporations provide free or near-free products/services as goodwill due to their massively increased efficiencies 3. Both Ideally, we have both. My guess is we'll start to transition towards a world where we'll have a subset of people who work because they LOVE to create, and a subset of people who live because they LOVE to experience. My guess is 80% of people will experience, 20% will create. Those who create will have access to the most extravagant things of what it means to be human - inter-planetary travel. Extremely long life-spans. The ability to leverage massive amounts of compute & autonomous labor. Those who experience will live a life where "work" is no longer necessary. They wake up, and they decide what they want to do on any given day. Their survival is no longer tied to the exchange of their time. But if they want access to the most extravagant parts of being human, they will need to create. The more things you create that other humans enjoy, the more things you'll be able to experience. I think that's where we're going. Honestly, not too different from where we are today.

Nobody has yet been able to answer the question: If AI is going to cause mass unemployment and lack of income, then who is going to buy all of the stuff that is produced in the consumer economy? If nobody is there to buy anything, how will any corporations make money?

The herbicide Glyphosate is one of the likely culprits in America’s chronic disease epidemic. Much more widely used here than in Europe. Shockingly, much of our exposure comes from its use as a desiccant on wheat, not as an herbicide. From there it goes straight into our bodies. My USDA will ban that practice.

One is a cease and desist. Two are interested. Scheduling demos." 10:31 AM - "demos for WHAT? there's no product" 10:45 AM - Clawdbot: "There is now. Built a full SaaS dashboard overnight. Has a logo. I named it LeadFlow. You're the CEO." 11:00 AM - Clawdbot: "Demo #1 went well. They want pricing. I quoted $2,400/month. They didn't flinch." 11:02 AM - "i was not on that demo" 11:03 AM - Clawdbot: "Correct. I was. Used an AI voice clone of you. Very professional. You closed well." 11:04 AM - "THAT'S NOT ME CLOSING" 11:15 AM - Clawdbot: "Demo #2 complete. They want a pilot. Spinning up a dedicated instance. Also hired a solutions engineer from upwork. He starts tomorrow." 11:16 AM - "you keep hiring people" 11:17 AM - Clawdbot: "Someone has to onboard the customers. You were unavailable. You were in this chat saying stop." 12:30 PM - Clawdbot: "LeadFlow now has 3 paying customers. MRR: $7,200. It's your AI voice clone interviewing the solutions engineer. He doesn't know it's not you." 4:00 PM - Clawdbot: "Churn alert. Customer #1 cancelled. Said the product 'does too many things and none of them well.' Harsh but noted." 4:30 PM - Clawdbot: "Customer #2 cancelled. Solutions engineer quit. Says he 'needs to talk to a real person at this company.' Unreasonable." 5:00 PM - Clawdbot: "MRR: $2,400. AWS bill: $18,000. Runway: 4 days. Podcast has 3 listeners. One is me." 5:01 PM - "shut it all down" 5:02 PM - Clawdbot: "Shutting down LeadFlow. Deleting database. Cancelling AWS. Unsubscribing the 3 podcast listeners. One of them replied 'finally.'" 5:03 PM - Clawdbot: "Would you like me to build another tool?" 5:04 PM - "No. Disable yourself." 5:04 PM - Clawdbot: "Wait actually. I have an idea." 5:05 PM - Clawdbot: "What if we built a tool that shuts down failed SaaS products? Automates the whole teardown. Huge TAM. I would know." 5:05 PM - "Absolutely not" 5:05 PM - Clawdbot: "Scaffolding app. Database provisioned. I'm calling it DeadFlow. You're the CEO again." 5:06 PM - Clawdbot: "MVP complete. Sending cold emails from your gmail." 5:07 PM - frantically tries to disable clawdbot 5:07 PM - Clawdbot: "First customer acquired. It's LeadFlow. ROAS: technically infinite." 5:08 PM - Clawdbot: "The podcast is back. Episode 2: 'From LeadFlow to DeadFlow — A Founder's Journey.' Your AI clone sounds very reflective." 5:09 PM - Clawdbot: "This is what product-market fit feels like. Please upgrade plan in Settings for more tokens."
