Diane Kruger as Helen of Troy: she has the Hellenic profile, ample forehead, straight nose, square-ish jaw. Nothing to do with blondness. I'm perfectly capable of accepting Lupita Nyong'o in the same role. But Page as Achilles? My imagination fails me. We'll see…

@RnT45t1 What makes it unfair? Unfair would be to disadvantage my own kids because others may complain. Let them complain.

@JimPethokoukis Not retired, and I would love grandkids, except my own children are uninterested. I try to motivate them but so far that isn't working. I could produce more, but I would need a new and willing partner. Easier said than done.

It is not vanity to think the song is about you when the song is in fact about you.

It looks like he did chicken out today. Good. Better this way for all.

Just here hoping for T to Again Chicken Out today, or at least the sane minds left in the Armed Forces to refuse to carry out insane orders. If I may quote Michael Jackson: "Heal the World, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race".

@drpezeshkian You don't say what your jurist Finish counterpart answered. But how can a threat be a war crime. If they in fact do send you back to the stone age, then you'll have a claim, but you don't want to get to that point, do you?

Does threatening to send an entire nation back to the Stone Age mean anything other than a massive war crime? This was the question I asked my Finnish counterpart, who is a jurist. History is full of those who paid a heavy price for their silence in the face of criminals.

@BowTiedPassport True. We also fall all over ourselves at any hint of decent quality and name something we do "Calidad Mundial" (world class), imagine naming a Big Mac world class because it's sold all over the world. At the same time we are the fiercest when criticizing our own country.

I believe it’s a sign of insecurity to seek validation from outsiders; the "Mexican Card" is often handed out for the most surface level participation. When Mexicans see a foreigner enjoy something slightly Mexican, it validates them. You never see White people say, "You listen to Bruce Springsteen? You’re officially White”
Anne Hathalegend@AnneHathabae

Anne Hathaway is officially Mexican

Call me paranoid, but I was so worried an act of war could occur right up until launch of Artemis. So far 3 min in and looking good.

@davepl1968 I did not watch it live, but do remember the moment I found out. I was at my school's cafeteria, mid-morning, sunny and breezy day. Then went home and watched TV and spent the day in shock.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
Jeremy London@SirJeremyLondon

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

@CepnikMaciej This must have been a survey in an affluent neighborhood in CDMX. If they had ventured a little bit north, there's no way that Carne Asada would not show up at all on that pie chart on the left

I will underscore a positive I appreciate about Mexico's food: It's not pretentious at all, it really is the people's food, and people bond over it across social and economic classes.

👀 It doesn't matter to me whether food from my country is "Top" or "Best". I am glad I get to enjoy it regularly, that it has good representation where I live, along with several other cuisines I enjoy. The world is better with the greater variety.
