I am super impressed with this Braves squad so far. Now that Acuña and Riley have started to pick it up we are looking damn good… Olson and Baldwin have been excellent so far and Dubón, Mateo, and Dom Smith have been excellent additions. Yaz has been alright too… Imagine this team once we get healthy too. Murphy, HSK, Schwellenbach, and Strider will be huge to get back. Skys the limit for this team as long as we stay healthy. I’m bought in.

@dominiclisti Dude there’s no baseball IQ left. I had to explain why we don’t play corners in with two outs to a kid at the start of the season. Looked me dead in the face and said “I’ve played in with a runner on third my whole life.” Im glad you posted this. That may be a rule soon for me.

My Highschool baseball coach begged us to watch 20-30 minutes of college/professional baseball a night. I never understood it. Reflecting on it now, I am deeply grateful I did as he asked. It helped me think the game & develop baseball IQ ahead of my age. As I help coaching Highschool baseball now : The baseball IQ is seemingly getting worse for high schoolers as time goes on & the world becomes exceedingly more short form & instant gratification centric. If you’re a parent and/or young baseball player I hope you understand how much understanding the intricacies of the game will play in your favor over the long haul.

Jarrell was literally picking his head up as the umpire made that call. His zone has already been pretty inconsistent both ways and now he pulls that. Just not great for the game.

I think we can both agree you love Aaron Judge’s swing. According to your logic he would only ever be off time when he swings improperly or he is simply never off time because his swing is the “right” way. Moral of the story there’s more to hitting than just your swing. Aaron Judge still has to be on time & swing at the right pitches. You can have the “best” swing in the world but you will not be a good HITTER if you have zero approach & do not check the simple boxes that all baseball players have to meet in order to be successful.

@Teacherman1986 @dominiclisti It’s very high level. I’ll admit that I don’t know everything these guys do but you’re suggesting that these guys don’t have approached bc their swing is the only reason they are successful.

@trevthetruth16 @dominiclisti Aaron’s swing is high level. It’s the same swing pattern as Bonds, Manny, Pujols, Trout etc. If you knew what those guys did then you wouldn’t make the comments that were made.
