Let's see how much coverage this gets in the right-wing press. So far, they have been pretty tight-lipped about this scandal (and it is an absolute scandal). Imagine how they would have reacted if it was Starmer or Polanski

Please please please @maxrushden stop calling him Yamal. It’s not his surname. Listen to Sid or anyone who’s close to Spanish football. It’s ‘Lamine’ or ‘Lamine Yamal’.
Thanks!

@BenjiNaesen @HansenAdam Ok, but Adam’s post isn’t about that at all. He never mentions it. He just talks about people blaming riders for riding behind the motos. Which as you say, is a tiny number of fanboys that no one listens to.
English

Sometimes there are fanboys of a rider that blame the opposing rider for using motopacing, but that's a small minority.
There is quite a bit of criticism to riders who voice their opinions on motopacing and that criticism is definitely too much because it's good that riders discuss this topic.
English

Let's talk about the Moto's influencing the race for a bit. For the fans bashing riders for riding behind the Motos, that's unfair. The riders are free to ride anywhere on the roads. For races that have Motos too close or just everywhere, that's not the riders fault. It's the organization of the vehicles in front of the race that is handled badly, again not the riders fault. It's first a race, not a movie production set. Do the riders want the Motos not influencing the race? Of course they do, we hear comments all the time and we always bring it up at each meeting. Even the organizers has expressed to improve safety, is to decrease the speed of the riders, where the CPA has always replied, the fastest way to slow down the bunch is not to have the Motos so close to the bunch. Which is a lot easier than trying to enforce correct hand position.
Again, all riders want more distance between Motos and the front bunch, riders should not have to navigate to make sure they are not directly in the draft of a moto. Please fans, it's the motorbikes fault, not the riders. Respect the riders, their job is hard enough and then to read on social media that they get disrespected because they have a motorbike in front of them is not fair.
Maybe the CPA might create a fund raiser for the production crew to buy a zoom for their cameras on these motorbikes. As it's unfair how much they influence the race speed, the results and on the other riders.
English

@BenjiNaesen @HansenAdam I’m genuinely confused by this. No one is blaming the riders, are they?
English

@HansenAdam It's Adam's job to defend the riders at all cost, but his core message is correct. It's a structural problem in the sport that motopacing influences races and riders shouldn't be harassed for saying that this is the case.
English

@ramez This is a very odd take and it should not have ‘gone viral’.
Texas is building much more fossil fuel power than California is.
It is contributing much more to rising temperatures than California is.
Everyone who cares about climate should understand this.
English

Everyone who cares about climate should understand this. Texas, with no pro-climate policies, has blown passed California in clean energy. In large part because Texas has less red tape and makes it easier to build.
John Bistline@JEBistline
Texas just passed California in utility-scale solar. And it's not close in wind or energy storage.
English

@DPJHodges @OzKaterji He doesn’t think that though, does he. This isn’t about actually doing it. It’s just about the signalling and the rage-baiting.
English

And the peloton is on the final climb to Leysin, just 30 seconds behind the breakaway. Allez Lenny, spank Pogi today! Surely Bahrain didn't chase for nothing.

English

@faustocoppi60 Or Pogacar is missing a little this week? Hasn’t looked quite as superior on the climbs as usual.
English

5 km to go. Lipo is very strong today because Pogacar is not increasing the gap, still 20 seconds.

Read this and thought England really has a problem with Cosplay. It’s become way too silly. And Sir Olly Robbins is also a Freeman. bbc.com/news/articles/…
English

@faustocoppi60 It was a very strange thing to do. And that’s not hindsight - was obvious the moment he broke away. Very odd.
English

It was a big risk for Seixas to go alone with 55 km left without having any satellite rider ahead (I thought Riccitello is there). Lipowitz would have helped him, I'm sure. I just hope Paulo doesn't bonk on the final climb, that would be tragic.

English

@BenjiNaesen But why? He’s made the race a lot more unpleasant for himself. He was never going to catch that group.
I guess need to keep remembering that he’s very young and very inexperienced.
English

Gotta give it to Paul Seixas, a lot of GC riders who are leading the race, in a stage with this weather, would focus on staying safe and simply defending their lead, while Seixas attacks 55 KMs from the finish, trying to cross a 3-minute lead to the breakaway. 🤯 #Itzulia2026

English

@BenjiNaesen Yeah I thought the same. But don’t know if it’s because they don’t dare, or they just don’t see it. I can’t see why they wouldn’t mention it if they were knowledgeable enough to notice it.

Deserved relegation for Gautherat at #GPVitre.
Deviation + Danger = Rule Violation ✅
Shame commentators don’t dare to call it out.
English

@faustocoppi60 Dangerous swing towards the barriers in the final 100m by Gautherat, no? One of those where if you’re not French you get relegated

The flying Pierre Gautherat (Decathlon CMA CGM) WINS Classic Velox Adélie de Vitré, his 2nd victory this week after Paris-Camembert! 👏🇫🇷 He beat Brustenga and Leitao in the tricky, uphill sprint.

That swing by Gautherat towards the barriers in the Adélie de Vitré was v dangerous. @BenjiNaesen @LanterneRougeYT one for the deviation police? Suspect if he wasn’t French he’d be punished
