@per_arneng @cinnamon_msft @craigaloewen That’s the whole point of WSL. You get the power of Linux (full capability at system API level and not CLI as you mentioned ) with Visual Studio integration for coding and debugging Linux apps. I have never a better combo than VS+WSL integration.

It’s just a matter of time until Windows becomes a paid Linux distribution. For 95% of the population it’s the UI that Microsoft builds that matters and they would not feel any difference. For the people working on lower level they would be better off with Linux internals than Windows cli and shell. It would save Microsoft huge amounts of money. Microsoft does not make money of their kernel or os internals. This will happen before 2030.

@gurgavin Regarding the insiders NOT buying, first understand a significant portion of compensation, for these insiders, is awarded in stocks. Selling part of it to realise their salary is normal. If they are rewarded in cash then you can question why they don’t buy their company stocks.

Kristin Cercone was born in 1984 BUT once her record is up you can change the date to 1894 and take a picture.
