@elonmusk @Kekius_Sage An isolated islander in the 1500s could reasonably ask, โIf other humans exist, why havenโt they come here?โ That question only feels strong because the islander cannot grasp the scale of the world. The Fermi Paradox may be a cosmic version of the same mistake.

@Kekius_Sage Perhaps it isnโt. Perhaps our sense of consciousness density is skewed because, from our perspective, everything in the universe is so vast.

Another option would be to introduce a male support role in the classroom. The position would not need to be highly paid, as its main purpose would be to provide a steady presence among the children, help maintain order, and act as a kind and positive male role model. The person in this role could also assist with classroom activities and support the teacher in delivering lessons.
Then you have a much bigger pool of potential people to hire.

@tunguz Then follow-up question. If you have an inner monologue does it have a voice? In that case is it an abstract voice or does it actually have a sound. Listen to your inner voice. Does it sound like you or perhaps ๐

It's one of the greatest languages. It's too bad it's on severe decline. It got adoption thanks to being a better Java. The Kotlin came, then C# got a lot better, then Java understood that it was falling behind and it became better. It was hard for Scala to compete in that space. Especially since a very small percentage of developers align with the FP mindset (which is sad). Nowadays language doesn't matter as much anymore since AI is taking over and the language that you get the most bang for your buck with is Rust. Super efficient code and the compiler and borrow checker is something that works really well with AI. I have a hard time seeing any other language that could compete unless it was to gain access to a walled garden ecosystem.

@BernieSanders Everyone right now is trying to replace white collar workers with "virtual robots". However it will bite back because there will be severely reduced consumption.

@elonmusk @MavoWorld @diana_dukic If it was possible to flag a post in multiple ways with different emojis:
* Spam
* Rage bait
* Engagement bait
* False news
* etc
A simple popup menu that it was possible to quickly tag. If multiple people did it then it could raise the quality of posts.

What seems more likely right now, is that the simulation is for entertainment purposes. We only hope that our existence has some kind of greater meaning but perhaps it's just for the entertainment of the controllers. It could also be that they actually interfere with the simulation to add drama/action.

@supercommonsys @verge AI definition is so random right now so someone would probably call that AI as well.

@Jimster4801 @9to5mac @benlovejoy It's special in that most people are unaware of it and just talk about swapping like it's 2005. It's not specific to Apple.
English

@per_arneng @9to5mac @benlovejoy But it is still possible to turn on, which is why I said that it isn't anything particularly special.

@rand_longevity Having a balanced view of it is most likely the smartest option. There are pro's and cons with everything.

@per_arneng @9to5mac @benlovejoy Memory compression is everywhere these days. Apple is just the only one that advertises it.

@factpostnews It's good that they are concerned when there is 0% job creation. Perhaps they should also be prepared for the negative numbers coming from the "intelligence revolution" which is the industrial revolution on speed. AI Hyperautomation will eat jobs for breakfast.

How do you make money from selling standalone installable software when most software can be replicated within a month or two? As soon as you show it publicly there will be clones very soon. The only way is to make it all open source so that people won't bother but then again you are not making any money from your perhaps unique idea. This means that software will be essentially free from now on. Before AI there was a barrier to replicate something but that is almost gone. This will have a very negative effect on software engineering jobs and salaries.

Controlled capitalism uses human greed for the greater good. Human greed is not compatible with charity. The economic system we have now is formed after humanity's both good and bad sides. It has been molded to be a reflection of us. We cannot change that easily since we cannot change humanity.

Labor is going away AND we will all be happier for it.
Hoops@Hoopss
What opinion will get you in this position?
English

@DaveShapi People will have more time to think and get angry and try to figure out who is responsible for making them unemployed and poor.

UBI. Wealth redistribution. Expanded safety nets. Right to shelter. Plenty of solutions. Break the first layer which is people finding meaning from exclusively being a workhorse for the system. Advocate for managing the solution. Primary candidate selection is the only democratic opportunity. Donโt let incumbent power be kingmaker there. Problem solved. Donโt prolong suffering to save the professional classes ego.
