Like seriously, WTF 🤬. This is dire news for blue skies research in #NewZealand. Now there is no funding for anything archaeological-related (i.e. humanities) unless you can put evol biol spin on it & put it thru the ecology, evolution & behaviour panel beehive.govt.nz/release/marsde…

The deliberate exclusion of Social Sciences and Humanities will be hamful for so many. The disicplines within these fields have been at the frontier of meaningful research impact with long term outcomes that are extremely relevant given our recent political climat.

Academia is strange. Get enough publications in the right journals and you'll be allowed to lead a team. No one checks whether you have the skills to lead a team, of course, why would they? You've published in journals. This should work out just fine.
