Puh - es gibt hier ja viel Applaus für diese Aussagen. Ich finde das sehr unglücklich. Man gewinnt zwar Szenenapplaus in Europa. Aber es macht die notwendige Zusammenarbeit nur deutlich schwerer. In der Sache verlieren am Ende wir Europäer.

@CMouroutis @ShayGal84 @IsraelHayomEng If you disclose you have such plans for your neighbor then you shouldn't be surprised when they liberate you one day, with able, hardened liberators. You'll be liberated from your obsessive racist, eschatological ideas.

@ShayGal84 @IsraelHayomEng Mr. Gal, in your last visit to Athens, some days ago, you had a very impressive presence. I reviewed all the videos of your speeches. First of all as Greek, I want to thank you for returning the original name of Constantinople. The same must follow for Smyrna.

The Constantinople Protocol: Israel’s Plan to Exit the Turkish System 👇 Policy Architecture Memo | @IsraelHayomEng In Jerusalem, the Turkey file has moved beyond diplomacy. It is now exit planning. Constantinople, not Istanbul, and not by accident. The name is deliberate. It is not nostalgia. It is statecraft. Constantinople is the older map of the gate between Europe, Asia and the Eastern Mediterranean, where geography became power, access became leverage, and corridors became instruments of sovereignty. Israel is not facing a normal diplomatic crisis with Turkey. It is facing a system: ports, airspace, trade routes, energy corridors, consular channels, lawfare platforms, administrative permissions and delays dressed as procedure. Every gate can become leverage. Every leverage point can become coercion. The Constantinople Protocol is the answer: no Turkish gate becomes a veto over Israeli freedom of action. The old vocabulary has expired. This is decoupling. Trade has been severed. Direct flights have not returned. Maritime access has been politicised. Turkish ports are no longer neutral for Israel-linked traffic. Ankara’s lawfare, diplomacy and pressure now move as one campaign. Its Hamas posture is legitimisation, not counterterrorism. Rupture is not the danger. Dependence is. A clean Israeli departure from the Turkish operating system gives Israel cleaner supply chains, safer aviation planning, deeper Eastern Mediterranean alignment, stronger ties with Azerbaijan, lower exposure to Turkish administrative coercion, and greater freedom of action in Gaza, Syria, Jerusalem, the Caucasus and Europe. Azerbaijan is not the vulnerability. It is the answer Ankara cannot veto. Israel does not ask Baku to choose between Ankara and Jerusalem. It expects Baku to remain what it is: sovereign, pivotal and irreducible to a Turkish corridor. Brussels is already reading the same map. Its own Constantinople Protocol is visible: strip Turkish discretion from strategic flows before discretion hardens into coercion. Redundancy architecture. Consent-free connectivity. Sovereign bypasses. Ankara’s gatekeeping is being devalued. This is not rupture for drama. It is exit discipline. Israel is not waiting for the Turkish system to close around it. It is commanding the exit. 🔗 israelhayom.com/2026/05/13/isr…

This reminds me of a conversation I was having with a Japanese person last night. They were very realist in a way. Acknowledged that Japan was crushed by the US economically in the Plaza accords and that Japan is a vassal today. But he is happy for Japan to be a vassal for the United States because « at least it is still gentle. » After all, even after the Plaza accords the standard of living is still high. He firmly believes Japan will be in economic if not actually in ruins if China ever becomes number one and so thinks Japan will do whatever is necessary to help contain it. But China is a neighbor and America is far away I asked, is it really a good idea to be in such strong opposition? Japan will be strong too, he said. America pulled Japan down. America can pump Japan up again. And then it will be… G1 USA G2 China G3 Japan The Chinese is simply too good at making everything, he said. You will buy from them but they will never buy from you. And as a result, whoever buy from them will end up being a beggar while amongst countries with similar ability, trade can actually go around and around. « When we sell them things the money doesn’t go to their middle class who can buy from us. It goes to the government who uses it to invest in more productive capacity. » <==this is a very Setser-Pettis argument but I accept it coming from this guy. Because he’s not saying that China is making any mistakes from Chinas POV, but that the rest of the world need to do counter-mercantilism against China’s mercantilism. I wonder what he and other « happy vassals » are feeling today. It’s their job to hang tight and resist China. But why is their leader trying to make deals instead?

Bottom line: this spring showed that Ukrainians did not break. And for the first time since 2023, Ukraine has been better than Russia at fixing the problems of its war machine. Together, these factors produced a cumulative effect. And its consequences eventually became visible to everyone at the same time, in the same place: on May 9, at the parade in Moscow. The shift is real. Ukraine has not yet seized the strategic initiative from Russia. But Putin can no longer pretend that his current model is working. He is definitely not ready to give up though. The battle of national effectiveness continues.
