Never do research on a crypto project's security and stop there. Here's why: 55% of projects we scored landed between 35 and 55 PoL – that's the moderate zone, not great, not terrible. What's interesting is how differently they got there. Three patterns produced the same middle PoL: 1. Regulatory coverage is near-perfect; operations and security are not. e.g. @OndoFinance scores 100% on regulatory and just 32% on operations. 2. Security is solid; compliance is near-absent. Ether.fi, @zksync , and $HYPE all built well and papered poorly. 3. Reputation covers weak operations. $BNB, $MANA, and $RENDER have strong brands that raise the PoL, yet they carry weaker operational foundations. The probability of loss is relatively similar, but the risks differ. That's the point of subscores on app.core3.io — they tell why and in which direction risk exposure is.

A question that comes up in every grants committee and listing review – how to compare risk? ⚖️ E.g., Two projects apply, both address the same narrative, both audited, TVL within a million of each other ($7M and $8M), and both are backed by mid-tier VC. How do you pick? Once we scored first data set we've spotted something: The surface metrics (TVL, audit badge, backer name) never predicted where risk was concentrated. One project had monitoring, key rotation, diversified treasury. Other routed most of its TVL through just one bridge and only audited the token contract (no protocol). Both have same narrative and same tier with different risk profiles. The standard evaluation process had no way to surface that difference, because nobody was measuring the same things. That's the gap Probability of Loss is designed to close. Why does nobody talk about the quality of 2/3 of digital assets? On some platforms, the ratio of listed assets to assets that would pass a basic quality threshold is closer to 3:1 than anyone in the market is publicly discussing. While assembling the new dataset to expand CORE3 coverage, we ran into a problem we didn't expect to be this big. We assessed how many assets it is realistically possible to index on risk exposure, and it appeared that 65% of assets listed on certain exchanges were low quality, or just inactive, returning a 98 probability of loss. When those assets sit in your dataset alongside projects that are actively building, the dead assets are the “dead weight” disrupting the signal for the rest of the market. For projects that invest in security, transparency, and operational maturity, this means competing for visibility against a market where the majority of listed assets were never built to last. But soon, they will get a way to stand out for just being safer than others ⌛

Probability of loss is CORE3’s flagship risk index. We built it to quantify Web3 risk for portfolio management, risk due diligence, and exposure monitoring. 60 seconds with risk infrastructure looks like: 1. First number. Probability of Loss. The index measures the likelihood and severity of an adverse event based on the project's current risk posture. One index, 1 (exceptional) to 100 (critical risk). 2. Open the project page, and the number breaks down. Six domains are scored separately: how it's secured, how it's financed, how it's managed, how it's compliant, what it depends on, and how it handled past failures. 3. Go one layer deeper, and track which specific conditions carry the most exposure. For each listed project, the platform shows present and missing conditions. Missing bug bounty, no third-party monitoring, treasury concentrated in the project's own token, no insurance, unverified key management — all on one screen. 4. Last layer: Proof of Voice. Proof of Voice (PoV) is the expert human layer that adds qualitative context to the neutral, machine-readable data of PoL. PoV explains the "why" behind a project's risk profile, assessing ecosystem vitality and product relevance to distinguish between living projects and stagnant protocols. Today, the Web3 industry is 4 years behind and 70% out of scope on assessing risk. Right now, the User, institution, regulator, or project builder can assess Web3 risk based solely on trust proxies: smart contract audits, proofs of reserves, and market health metrics (TVL, MCAP, volume, etc.). It was enough in 2022, when the smart contract exploits swept Web3, and FTX proved that insolvency is the issue. In 2026, threats became more complex; ~70% of incidents fall outside the smart contract audit scope (REKT data), originating in governance, dependencies, operations, and financial health. Yet there's no infrastructure to assess how protected a project is across any of them. Considering the risks of 2026, we are four years behind as an industry. And we feel it: since FTX, $60B (REKT database) has vanished from investors’ wallets and project treasuries. You get the question “Is project XXX risky?” What are your steps? As Dyma has put it from the stage: Right now, the industry has one approach, and it keeps going wrong. Put together signals: audits, opinions on X, dashboards, leaderboards. Each shows a fragment of risk, measured differently. Inconsistent, not comparable, often subjective. Capital flows into projects without real risk management because there's nothing to assess beyond audits. As a result, the same failures repeat under new names. There's another way to answer the question: quantify risk as a probability of loss, based on exposure to known failure patterns. Measurable, comparable, continuously updated as projects change. The reason the industry still defaults to the first is simple: there was no open risk standard released at this scale. To change this, the CORE3 team developed an open methodology, gathered an initial dataset of 1426 projects and 253 exchanges, and then released it to the public today. USD1 is becoming the base layer for RWAs on Aster. Commodities and other RWA markets are moving onchain, with USD1-denominated markets accessible in one place. The first markets rolling out include $CLUSD1, $XAUUSD1, $XAGUSD1, and $BZUSD1, with additional markets potentially to follow. These markets launch with lower fees*, making access to RWAs more efficient from day one. Additional participant programs may be introduced, with details to be shared later. Aster and @worldlibertyfi are aligning to bring RWAs onchain at scale. *Note: The fee structure for USD1 pairs on Aster is 1bps for takers and -0.5bps for makers, and may be adjusted over time.
