Regardless of your thoughts on TMZ or Harvey, TMZ received the first ransom letter, along with KOLD News. I tend to believe they have legitimate contact(s) within the FBI. So, I pay attention when they report on developments in the Nancy Guthrie case.

Breaking: FBI Director Kash Patel chooses not to comment on the new Reuters report that cites FBI sources who say the Nancy Guthrie ransom notes were fake. Patel said the 'locals are still in the lead' ... however in the Reuters report, the Pima County Sheriff's office deferred to the FBI on the ransom notes. "A spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff's Department, which is leading the overall investigation, declined to comment, citing its agreement to refer all inquiries regarding ransom notes to the FBI." Also worth noting it appears the Today show stayed away from the Reuters report.

@faithsports3 @imadriienne @BrianEntin Not necessarily. Could mean that the contents of the notes aren’t real. They could be from the actual perps, but it was never a kidnap for ransom. The notes were just a cover up to throw investigators off

@MattFinnFNC They don’t owe us anything in an active investigation, but at this point I really hope they address this through a statement or press conference. Or, hopefully this means an arrest is coming

NEW in Guthrie -- we are waiting to see if the FBI chooses to comment on or address the Reuters report that says all the Guthrie ransom notes are fake.   It's unclear at this hour how it was determined that the Guthrie ransom notes were deemed bogus ... or why exactly FBI sources apparently chose now to leak this to Reuters.     The first two notes that went to media are generally considered in a separate category from all the subsequent notes. The first note demanded a ransom for millions of dollars, according to sources and reports. The second informed the family that Nancy had passed. The first two notes up until this point have not been publicly ruled out by the FBI and sources tell Fox those two are still considered possibly legitimate.  Even Savannah Guthrie said in an interview she tends to think the original notes may be real. Of course, any and all can be fake.

Dr.GB said it could be someone who worked with Savannah. He also said that it sounds like a woman (ransom writer) different than the man (Porch Guy). **** Just my opinion and just pointing out facts of reality: KVOA is where Savanah used to work. KVOA is where Savanah did her “coming home special”. Someone who currently works at KVOA has not posted any pictures of Savanah or mentioned her prior to her mother going missing…. Not even pictures of her coming home visit… like other employees had. KVOA also did not receive any ransom notes. Why?***** That’s just an observation……
