The other thing Wheatley's departure shows once more is the problem that Sauber had from its early sportscar days - attracting top British talent to live and work in Switzerland when there are so many opportunities closer to home. People rarely stay long...

That Verstappen vs Haase battle is exactly why people say F1 doesn’t hit the same anymore. When drivers can’t even fight because of energy limits, you’ve lost the essence of motor racing.

Max Verstappen's team has been disqualified from the NLS race at Nurburgring for using too many tires! 🛞

Max Verstappen just owned the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Pole by 1.9 seconds, one push lap. Race win by 59+ seconds 2 races. 2 wins. 2 different cars. 100% record at the Ring 🐐

Verstappen goes fastest by almost 2 seconds He is now on provisional pole position

Having analysed this situation in depth, I think I’ve been able to reach a conclusion. Verstappen has always been one of the drivers with the best starts; it’s impossible for a driver of his calibre to have three poor starts in a row due to his own mistakes. Furthermore, if you check his onboard, you can clearly see that the start itself is good and his reaction time is among the best, but suddenly the engine stops delivering power. It’s also a fault we’ve seen with several drivers in these races. Therefore, I’m certain we can say that this is more of a mechanical issue than a driving error, and if that’s the case, his weekend can only be described as really good.
