Overwatch kicked off a new genre and in the process killed at least two competitors that launched too close to it. It had a seismic impact on gaming in 2016 and deserved GOTY over anything else that year. Nothing else came close to that.

Uncharted 4 losing GOTY to Overwatch in 2016 is still the biggest robbery in gaming history. I get it, Overwatch was a great game too, but Uncharted 4 is miles ahead. It was so ahead of its time that it could release tomorrow and no one would say it's an outdated game.
