Disney ruined Star Wars and Paramount ruined Star Trek. I have started watching older sci-fi series now. Nothing current is even watchable. Just about finished re-watching Babylon5, any ideas for my next retro series?

You're not a soldier, so you don't have a right to cast moral judgements. It's not a matter of infallibility because of strength, no it's a matter of simply saying, you have absolutely no fucking idea what war is like. Regardless of if any war crimes happen, the fact of the matter is that it is war, and you, a petulant little wanker with no experience in that, does not have the right to lambast BRS over what happened in war. None of us get that right as civilians.

The hottest job for the next five years is going to be the agent operator. They don't need to be an engineer. They can walk into marketing, legal, or life sciences research and actually make agents work for that function. Required skills: > MCPs > CLIs > Writing skills (the file kind) > agents.md fluency > Business acumen None of this is in any CS curriculum today. Soon, enterprises will be pressured to redesign their workflows for agents, not for people. And when that happens, agent operators will be in massive demand.

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

What you picture when you think of a mailbox basher is itself a pretty good litmus test for the society in which you live. In a homogenous, high trust society in which you know your neighbors, the mailbox basher is the teenage son of somebody you know, who is probably going to grow up to be pretty normal, and for whom mailbox bashing represents peak degeneracy. In the dysfunctional, low trust society, the mailbox basher is an outsider, somebody who is not part of your social circles, and for whom mailbox bashing is just the tip of the iceberg. Nobody wants to have their mailbox knocked over, in either case, but in the first instance you want second chances, you want a way to handle these incidents that recognizes that these are your young men and they need guidance and this isn’t behavior that’s all that crazy we’re out of the ordinary. In the second scenario, you just want that person gone. They’re not part of your social world, not somebody for whom you feel responsibility.

Chris Camillo reveals how people are making $500K/year being an "AI guy" for small businesses "There are millions of small businesses out there and almost none of them are willing to embrace AI right now, you just walk in and say give me one area where you're leaking money, I'll fix it for free" "Within days you've set up an AI agent answering their calls, sending responses, getting quotes out in real time… and you just increased their revenue by 5 to 15% at essentially no cost" "Now you're invaluable. They're paying you $2,000 or $3,000 a month to be their AI guy, you replicate that across 10 or 20 businesses and you're making half a million a year"

It's funny how AI has made white collar work 10x faster already but there's been basically no economic impact from it. The reason is quite simple: 1. Most white collar work is bullshit, so speeding it up by 10x still equals a pile of bullshit at the end 2. Most white collar employees are using AI to do all their work for the week in 4 hours instead of 40, whilst telling their manager the deadline is still 40 hours away We have been living in a fake economy for the better part of two decades. It is all a fugazi. People who do real jobs in the real world get paid comparatively crap, and people who do fake jobs in the fiat Ponzi world get paid just enough fiat currency to pretend they are important. None of it amounts to anything productive nor valuable for the world though. An entire generation doing fake email jobs, slide decks and excel sheets for corporations who ultimately produce nothing.

This “Universal High Income” idea is SO catastrophically bad that it makes me question EVERYTHING about Elon Musk… This is unworkable, & would cause massive inflation, fundamentally destroying the incentive structure of our society (COVID Panic on steroids). I’d like to believe Elon has fallen for this idiocy because he simply doesn’t understand normal humans and he craves free time.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

Whenever someone asks, "Why do you care if White people become a minority. Is it hard to be a minority?" They miss a key point. In modern times, White people bend over backward to accommodate minorities. We create special programs specifically for minority groups. We've given them jobs over more qualified White people simply because they are minorities. When White people become a minority, the majority group begins to target White people. It starts with campaigns of dehumanization, then trying to take land and jobs from White people. Suddenly, after their dehumanization of White people, killing them becomes widely accepted. They were made the villain and made to seem less than human. This is why becoming a minority for White people is an awful prospect. We simply can't expect benevolence from the majority. Only subjugation and murder.

🇮🇷 "The American special forces fell into a trap set by Iran's armed forces." New details emerging on the failed Isfahan operation. Iranian sources now confirm this was not a pilot rescue mission. It was a raid on a nuclear facility. Zero hour was set at the White House under Trump's direct supervision. The landing site, an abandoned airstrip, was chosen specifically for its proximity to an Isfahan nuclear site. Generals who warned against the operation were fired days before it launched. Iran let the first C-130 land and the commandos disembark, then sprang the trap when the second aircraft approached. Little Bird helicopters never got airborne. US jets bombed their own equipment to prevent capture. Personnel fled so fast they left their ID documents behind. Iranian sources call it worse than Tabas 1980 and the fallout will affect Trump's political future for years.
