@Exodus15_11 “The thief on the cross surely recognized his sin debt and who was authorized to forgive that debt. “
How clear does the text make this? Or does it require some extra biblical interpretation?
English

For all of the folks quoting Alistair Begg with his half-baked sermon "the man on the middle cross said I could come":
Unless the Holy Spirit confronts a person of their sin as an unpayable debt needing to be forgiven, a person cares not to be forgiven.
The thief on the cross surely recognized his sin debt and who was authorized to forgive that debt.
English

@howiedoit299187 @megbasham It’s for us but it’s about him. A distinction is essential.
English

@trybvibes @megbasham More accurate to be a Jesus Follower and to Be Like Him.
The Bible is God's Word FOR us.
English

I appreciate much that the Trump administration has done to recognize our historical Christian roots and acknowledge how important those values and virtues are going to be to keeping America strong.
But as much as we appreciate President Trump, we should never liken him to our savior.
Trump needs Jesus as much as we all do.
The American Conservative@amconmag
Paula White, leader of the White House Faith Office, speaks about President Trump: "You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. You will be victorious in all you put your hand to because God is using you."
English

@GregoryAShirk @megbasham Jesus loves him too. We don’t need to pretend he’s a Christian for that to be true.
English

@trybvibes @megbasham Ya, I don’t know. I pray President Trump is a saved man. I love the dude…

@Brella27257417 @cwebbonline Hope these examples will bring other examples of Christian’s speaking up against war and other craziness to your algorithm.
English

@trybvibes @cwebbonline The churches are pushing Charlie Kirk as the second coming of Christ. Normal churches.
English

@Brella27257417 @cwebbonline Yeah, that’s a generalization. Idk what you mean by “normal” churches. Your bubble is too small.
English

@Brella27257417 @cwebbonline Asking sincerely. Cause th comments are literally full of people speaking against this behavior. Lots promoting it as well tho. Your concern is valid. But the generalization is fallacious
English

@trybvibes @cwebbonline You think church leaders are pushing back against this? If so, who and where?
English

@Brella27257417 @cwebbonline So many. Something not existing on your screen or in your algorithm doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
I know several church pastors that have sooken against a lot of the anti-Christian rhetoric coming from the WH. Or are you asking for “popular” or “influential” people?
English

@GregoryAShirk @megbasham Im not saying he can’t possibly be “saved” btw. Just wondering how one makes a leap like “he claims a denomination therefore we will accept that as a profession even if he’s ignorant of th whole thing.” I’m all for giving grace. The logic just isn’t clicking for me. WWJD
English

@trybvibes @megbasham He claims presby. They profess the Westminster Confession. I confess the London Baptist Confession, 1689
Ever read them?
Basically TULIP (acronym)
English

@GregoryAShirk @megbasham So claiming a denomination is equivalent to a profession as long as it’s the right one- or an “approved” one?
English

@Brella27257417 @cwebbonline Like what kind? Specifically standing up and screaming where?
Lots of Christian’s are in the comments, on video, in public spaces, saying this. Are you saying you want someone to send you these examples specifically?
English

@trybvibes @cwebbonline Actual examples would help.
English

@Brella27257417 @cwebbonline Many have and will. What kind of outrage, specifically, would convince you?
English

@cwebbonline If people want to tell me this doesn't represent Christianity then why aren't any Christians standing up and screaming?
English

@JusBrierley Young people are bored and lonely. In texas, going to church is a social happening. The church experience is the only form of community for many people, even if it’s shallow.

📊🚫 Following the withdrawal of The Quiet Revival report by Bible Society, I reflect on lessons that need to be learned. But one flawed report does not mean the ‘rebirth' is a myth - there are many other data points showing a new attitude towards faith is on the rise.✝️

@howiedoit299187 @megbasham Probably more formative to think of ourselves as the ones that persecute and unfairly accuse others, rather than pretend the Bible is about us.
English

@megbasham She didn't 'liken' Trump to Jesus.
WE all must be LIKE JESUS.
Compare our lives to HIS and imitate HIM.
When we get persecuted for righteousness sake, we are like Jesus.
Unfairly accused? Like Jesus.
Your bias has caused you to miss the message.
Your loss.
English

@GregoryAShirk @megbasham He’s ignorant of his own profession of faith? How does that work? How far should we apply that? Universalism ?
English

@megbasham President Trump is ignorant of his own profession of faith. He's a great President. One of the best. But, he's no theologian. Paula White? Really??
