Meet @Midaskwant, a Lead Designer at Mirage. When it comes to design, he believes anything is possible if you’re willing to let go of constraints. So... what actually happens when you do that? Hear his take.

This past summer, my dad tried cloning his voice to create content for his Alumni association in India. One major issue: every model he tried flattened his accent entirely. Each voice clone sounded more American, stripping away what actually made his voice his: the accent, the energy, the pacing. A few weeks ago, I sent him an early Mirage voice clone. His accent was intact. The delivery sounded natural. It really sounds just like him. Today, we’re excited to share Mirage’s audio foundation model. It’s incredibly good at preserving identity. We’ve since tested it across our global team — our teammate in Austria gave it a go. Check it out for yourself below. mirage.app/voices

The biggest problem with current Voice AI is that it flattens everyone out. Most models strip away accents and emotional nuance, making everyone sound like a generic American bot. Eleven labs tried mending this but Mirage audio genuinely blew me away

AI voice clones are here. But even the outputs from industry leaders sound like a TED Talk given by a cucumber. Recently I tested @trymirage’s new audio model, and I think it is the closest thing I've seen to getting this problem right. Follow the 🧵

I’ve been following Voice AI for a bit now as it relates to marketing and content creation. Feels like Mirage is solving the right problem here. Voice AI will only work as a legitimate use for marketing teams if it sounds believable, not just accurate. Needs that nuance… and to fit into the style of native content on platforms 👌 If I’m a marketing team leaning into AI … this is where I’d start. Cool stuff

One of these voice clones *actually* sounds like the original. That’s because Mirage audio generates more expressive output than other models on the market. Our research team built Mirage audio to create more realistic voices. Launching today, this new model solves 3 common challenges in AI audio: 1. It preserves the original speaker’s accent 2. The performance feels dynamic, not flat 3. Delivery matches how people really speak Thanks to our frontier AI research, our voice clone feature preserves the little details that make your voice unique. So your voice actually sounds like you.
