It's mind boggling that you can send a website live in 10 seconds but you need a PhD to setup your domain name. Why haven't we solved this problem yet?

Eye-opening session yesterday at the Lovable workshop in Athens. If you’re building B2C stuff on the web, find an event near you and just participate. There are tons of tools out there. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Lovable. Leave your expertise at home. Follow the instructions, talk to the person next to you, watch the presentations at the end and discuss their prompts. Most people don’t know exactly what they want to do, but they do know that AI is too big a deal to ignore, so they’re trying things. A 50+ historian and museum curator built a mindfulness app after "catching the vibe-coding bug at another event." How amazing is that? This person previously had absolutely no way to express what they wanted to see on a screen. Even with a vibe-coding tool, they iterated and ran circles around the idea. Try this and that. Not this. Go back. You know what I mean. At this point people can build their internal tooling at the speed of light. Yes, deploying and maintaining something online is still a bit more difficult, but we’ll get there (hopefully). I’m leaving out of the equation those who thought code was the difficult part of building and selling something. They’re slowly losing interest again. Low-code tools were the first wave. Seriously, you’ll leave with tons of insights and things to think about. I’m still in awe.

@koslib Well, building in these circles is still an issue, yes, friction is not where it used to be, but the Dunning Kruger effect is in full effect in these circles. They have absolutely no idea what lies ahead 😅

@tsiger Building is not the issue anymore, shipping still is though - and building is maybe less than 20% of shipping

Just left a Lovable workshop in Athens where a 17yr old built an app for used cars and someone else built a website for their gym in just a few hours. What is happening out there right now is amazing.

@d__raptis Indie hackers who solve real world problems aren’t going anywhere, this is the time of their lives. As for anyone who just scrolls through lists of existing projects thinking they can make them better, well, they’re ngmi.

Still experimenting with Gogh. Last night was all about making page rearranging feel as effortless as possible. Less clicking. Less thinking. Just grab, move, and carry on. I'm obsessed with reducing friction. Seeing the world through a beginner's eyes is in my DNA after training more than 5,000 people to use WordPress. Fable and I are cooking 🔥 What do you think?

So basically mcp works like http now. Nice.

It has taken countless iterations and needs more work, but currently @widgetizerorg generates layouts pretty much the way I would do it manually. Obviously the whole thing is based on 15 years of data from my own theme design process, so there's that. Needs lots of tweaking, but I can see my pixels in there.

One of the benefits of building on top of the WordPress block theme architecture is that Gogh can tap directly into theme style variations. I've been experimenting with auditioning different theme styles inside Gogh, and it's a pretty frictionless experience. What do you think?

I'm watching from a distance these days but pretty much every single WordPress-related event these days has zero topics about free/premium WordPress/WooCommerce themes, not themes in general, which is crazy imho. Is this true or just in my bubble?
