Sink to load. Extend. “Chase the hit” to stay in strong shape. 1) Weight room warm up with band. 2) On-field, together, timing. 3) Reverse? Either way I like the dynamic-to-stabilization idea for a little “quick to strong” and core work.

Football coaches: just for fun. Think about playing defense for 2:45 straight this close to your goal line and holding out….in a World Cup final no less. “Defend the like like you are defending South Africa itself”

“Pick your shot, don’t just smash the pile” Numbers to the ball is such a talked about thing in Football but there is a key read (on the run) for 2nd man. Where is 1? And where is the open strike zone?

IIt doesn’t get much better than this — Coach Ryland is widely regarded as one of the premier tackling coaches and educators in the game today. @ADRCoachDev will be on site with hands on teaching. Pairing up with @tsummerfieldMT on the field!!

New thread: Contact over the week. Starting here as this is by far the most known/done in football. But do notice this is #3 and we will look at other ways later

Balance in Tackle Teaching. If you win the space & body position battle you make the rest of the job exponentially easier But many coaches front load their teaching so much that they almost forget the back half. You need more fixes/cues than wrap up & drive feet vs good carriers

One my favorite parts of the ⁦@RiddellSports⁩ ⁦@RichieGrayGSI⁩ bags is the depth and density lets you go full hit. Even on a lower body tackle -which I often stand in and hold for- really reduces worry about Charlie horse and can practice the skill.

Track-Back and track across are key paths I don’t think we train enough in football because we love our inside-out downhill boxes. Playing in space and when the structure has been fractured is massive to limit damage from big plays. ⚽️ example from my guy @Coach_frankb

Did a tackle thing with my old high school I always ask players, “what did you learn?” when done: 1) different tackles for different situations 2) how fast clamp need to be 3) how strong clamp needs to be Favorite drills: 1) Tackle two 2) Double Bag, Bag Drop 3) Edge read it

Talking with a friend. My attempt at making attacking/defending, create/close space games as simple as possible for all sports. I’m sure there is stuff to add on deeper reflection but this was initial reaction.

The difference in progression and programming. Progressions are a general outline. Useful but normally gets general results. Programing is specific. Adjusted and adapted drills or when to skip or double back steps.

Shhhhhh 🤫 Wanna see a secret. Working with a highly athletic team that likes to generate power via speed. Teaching to hit/pop/strike more. Little 4 week progression.

Dynamic, fractured, 3v3 box fit demonstrated by @tsummerfieldMT. D on three side of box. Runner on 4th. Two blockers in middle can obstruct any of 3 defenders - take most dangerous, mix it up and make the D fracture fit. Also shown with turn and attack start by 1 D and BC.
