The Butters scenario is an all time lose-lose situation for the AFL. They have to take the umpire’s side and defend him. They can’t not, for obvious reasons. But you’re also going to cop it from all sides if you punish Butters here with no evidence and his adamant denial.

The Zak Butters abuse standoff.
