Just shot 81/100 from the free throw line. I play basketball 6 times a year. I haven’t played organized since middle school. NBA players should be ashamed if they don’t shoot 75%+.

@TateTakes i’m not trying to be rude, but dude are you really that arrogant to think that? If it was as easy as you make it sound every player would shoot 80%+ no? Yet the league average has never surpassed 79% in the history of the NBA.

@ttomppp Human error? As in just not being good at shooting free throws? I just don’t see a world where I would feel all that much pressure shooting free throws after playing like 50 games at the nba level and experiencing doing it in front of fans THAT many times.

@TateTakes pressure by itself is enough of a factor and then you add in confidence, mental toughness, fatigue, and then there’s human error

@ttomppp What’s the specific reason why players with poor free throw intangibles as you are saying CAN shoot well in practice but can’t in games. The only thing I can think of is fatigue and pressure…

@TateTakes in 2012, dwight howard shot 1252/1532 (82%) in practice, but only shot 49% from ft in game. people fail to understand how much the intangibles play a factor

@ttomppp I’m a similar height to the average nba point guard with a similar wingspan… and I’m not arguing it’s the same thing, obviously I wouldn’t shoot 80% in the nba

@TateTakes first of all jogging on a treadmill isn’t the same as playing in an nba game lol. The height of a player can play a factor, how long their arms are, what point in the game it is, how tired they are. Most of it is mental, but you will never get that same effect in an empty gym..
