@_jameshatfield_ @TheMuppetPastor Obviously you do not read all that well. My posts speak against Liberation Theology regularly and cite Benedict XVI as one of the primary and most insightful commenters on the subject. Or are you just reaching for any straw to try to be snarky.

I learned an interesting fact the other day about Jesus’ lineage. Some of you know this, but one of his ancestors was Ruth, the Moabite, and heroine of her own book. What I had forgotten was this verse: ““No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of them may enter the assembly of the Lord forever,” Deuteronomy 23:3 ESV NO Moabite could enter the assembly of the Lord? This harsh punishment was a result of Moab’s many sins against their cousin, Israel (sons of Lot and born of incest) when they tried to hire Balaam to curse the Hebrews, when they refused to help their cousins, when they invaded, and when their wicked religion butchered infants to their pagan gods. So why was Ruth able to not only become Hebrew, but to be a proud member of the line of David, and later, Jesus? “But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16 ESV Ruth the Moabite did more than pledge loyalty to Naomi; she rejected her culture, her gods, and her old life, choosing the true God instead. Ruth was not subject to the curse against Moab because she was penitent, humble, and a convert. God punished the host who violently opposed him and embraced sin even when they knew a better way. Moab knew about God; Lot was a follower, but they chose wickedness instead. Yet God forgave anyone who abandoned wickedness and returned to Him. More than just a love story; Ruth is a reminder that God forgives all who seek His face.

Mother Miram has ENRAGED the religious community by labeling Muslim-Christian unity as "Santanic." "Embracing Islam is NOT of God! " Mother Miram said. Critics have called her comments "hateful." 👉 Is she "hateful," or does she have a point?

"Christianity is inherently Jewish." BINGO. That is the confusion, the heresy, the misunderstanding that I am pointing out. That is the type of thinking that tears apart a valid grasp of Christianity. It is a falsehood that has been (intentionally) promoted to damage Christianity. Christianity is not Jewish.

@JulietteAkinyi @zkbair @TheMuppetPastor Actually that has been the claim in many instances. I'm good with a proper historical analysis. There is way too much conflation of OT thinking creeping into Christianity, not always accidentally, that has damaged the faith.

@ttwinstitute @zkbair @TheMuppetPastor No one is claiming that what is commonly called Judaism is the faith of what are commonly called Christians. All we are pointing to is the connection between the two covenants.

Wow. That drives off into the weeds. Jesus never claimed authorship of the OT. In fact, he corrected the Jewish authorities and they convicted him of blasphemy and had him crucified. You seem to have a problem with that central aspect of NT scripture. THEY CRUCIFIED HIM FOR BLASPHEMY. You have been led terribly astray by those who have failed to understand there is Judaism, and then there is Christianity. Two faiths. Not the same.

@ttwinstitute @TheMuppetPastor If you reject the OT scriptures, you reject Jesus’s own words. And He IS the Word (John 1:1). Again, you have already received many detailed, excellent rebuttals and I encourage you to read them with a heart to understand.

@ttwinstitute @TheMuppetPastor Why would I not want to read about Christ’s appearances to Moses and other prophets? When you understand the burning bush was Christ it hits different. When you understand that Jacob was wrestling with Christ himself, it all takes on a greater meaning.

"Christianity is simply Judaism acknowledging its Messiah." Wow. That tops it. Christianity is NOT Judaism. Wow. This is the problem today. People do not know Christianity. They have been led astray by those who insert Judaic beliefs into the faith. Bad, bad pastoring and preaching going on.

The Old Covenant wasn’t broken. It was fulfilled. Jesus said it directly: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” The New Covenant isn’t a replacement. It’s not fixing something broken. It was always part of the plan. That’s why Jeremiah can talk about it centuries before Jesus. Christianity is simply Judaism acknowledging its Messiah.

Not the case. Not at all. The New Covenant is NOT contingent upon the OT. The beginning of creation is covered separately and more precisely in the NT. See the prologue to the Gospel of John, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." And so on... Genesis stated more comprehensively. One can disregard the entire OT and not miss a thing when it comes to the true God, when it comes to "The way, the truth, and the life." Those who believe Jesus Christ came into existence two thousand years ago missed the entire story. Recall the INCARNATION? Please try to move away from OT views and find a deeper truth in Christianity. ONLY the NT shows God's heart and love. The OT is filled with a jealous and genocidal tribal god. It is downright primitive compared to the NT.

You cannot disregard the OT - it shows you the whole picture of God's heart and His love for all humanity - without the OT there cannot be a NT - the whole Bible is important from the beginning of humanity when God created - He is the Alpha and the Omega - from everlasting to everlasting!

@smoketman @TheMuppetPastor WHAT? Talk about heresy!! No Jesus without the OT, without prophecy? Oh, my. Prologue to John, "In the Beginning..." Oh, my. Jesus Christ is NOT NOT NOT a contingent being dependent upon the OT for his existence.

@ttwinstitute @TheMuppetPastor 'Your' temple is the temple Jesus built. Romans 15:4 what was written in the past was for our instruction so that we may have hope. Christians should read the OT, it is the first 24 books of the Tanakh, Jesus' only scriptures. No OT, no word, no prophecy, no Jesus.

@themom_katie @TheMuppetPastor Three words that included the accusation of heresy. At least you are consistent with the Pharisees who reacted to the same ideas with "blasphemy." Same disagreements. But Christians today should not be Pharisees.

@ttwinstitute @TheMuppetPastor I said 3 words and you take that to mean I’m stamping my feet and screaming? Perhaps you should take a breath. There were already many excellent comments explaining why your position is wrong. Feel free to read them to understand why your statement is heretical.

@AndrewJ61756940 @TheMuppetPastor So off base as to be comedic. Dig deeper in the box of insults to find something better. Do you know what Dispensationalism argues? And, good on you for figuring a way to call me a Nazi. No insult would be complete without that trope.

@ttwinstitute @TheMuppetPastor "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." - Jesus and all historic Christians. Your view is more like Dispensationalist Zionist (and ironically like the Nazis Deutsche Christen).

@themom_katie @TheMuppetPastor Yeah. Sure. Whatever. I can see you are not going to engage the actual topic, but rather have an uneducated position to defend. Stamp your feet and scream heresy all you want. That is boring.

J.D. Hall writes a Substack publication called Insight to Incite. He has done a deep dive on Zionism and on other issues of the sort. He is not a hater but he does not pull his punches when it comes to discussing aspects of anti-Christian hate emerging from Rabbinical Judaism, Talmudic Judaism. He is a scholar of Biblical exegesis and goes on at some length about alterations of OT scripture made to undermine Christian theology. Interesting stuff. More sophisticated than simple "hate" rhetoric. The complaint with the Zionists on the part of thoughtful people (not haters) is the manner in which it alters and twists Christian theology. Not a hater myself. My path into peacemaking was informed, at least in part, by my experience directing the fundraising film for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. In that work I interviewed dozens of survivors in some of the most in-depth interviews you will find. (They are archived at the D.C. Holocaust Memorial Museum.) I've been told, but cannot confirm, that my interviews inspired Spielberg to initiate the Shoah project.

@ttwinstitute @AndrewJ61756940 @TheMuppetPastor I looked up JD Hall on a show called “Backlash.” I didn’t actually hear Hall but the host is going on about Zionists infiltration etc. The level of fear and it seems to me hate (maybe you don’t and I’m glad) but this YouTube show is very upset about Zionists. I don’t get it.

@DisneyRobyn70 @AndrewJ61756940 @TheMuppetPastor What the heck are you talking about? Hate for Israel? That did not come up. We were discussing the difference between Judaism and Christianity. Hate? Maybe I mentioned the hate of Talmudic Jews for Christianity. Simply alluded to that situation. Did not make a big thing of it.
