18 years and counting of asking the hard questions and airing the answers for Uganda, and for every community we serve. None of it happens without the journalists, producers, editors, and crews who wake up every day and walk into rooms most people walk away from. They chase stories that are inconvenient, sit with sources who are afraid, and work hours that don't show up in any broadcast. I see what it costs them. I am proud of every single one of them. That is our commitment, and they are the reason we can keep it. Happy World Press Freedom Day. #NextMediaUG

I will say this again, Chairman Nyanzi should come clean with us and tell us what he said when he was arrested at Kubili. We need to know what is in his hidden/classified witness statement!

The Sovereignty bill threatens everyone’s money and freedom Its not the disease its a symptom of rigged elections, unchecked power & impunity We stay silent on those and only unite when it’s personal If we fought those injustices with this same energy this Bill wouldn’t exist

@Adv4justictice Instead of resorting to quick fixes, they should focus on comprehensive strategies that respect sovereignty while also maintaining essential international cooperation and trade. It's about balance not isolation.

This raises serious questions about the transparency and accountability of the process. Why the sudden urgency to push this through before the public has had a proper chance to weigh in? This is not just an oversight' it undermines the democratic process.

It is surprising that the Protection of Sovereignty bill 2026 has been put on today’s order paper for second reading. I am not sure if this is a mistake but if it is not then the public consultation time issued by the clerk to parliament is up to 24th/04. Why the rush?

The comparison to FARA is misleading. That law was designed for transparency specifically to expose lobbying on behalf of foreign governments not to strip citizens of their identity or rights. Using it as a justification for overreaching sovereignty laws distorts its purpose.
@

Regime propagandists are casually making sweeping comparisons with the US Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 (FARA Act) forgetting that this act does not declare US citizens living abroad Foreigners. It targets US citizens hired by authoritarian regimes like UGANDA to lobby against sanctions. The law also helps on due diligence of non citizens and companies incorporated outside the US seeking state department funding #RejectSovereigntyBill

UPDATE: Women leaders and activists, including Babirye Lillian, MP Christine Nakimwero, and Edith Byanyima, have rejected the Protection of Sovereignty Bill, 2026. They note that the Bill poses risks to women’s rights, broader civil liberties, and the economy. Parliament is expected to debate the draft Bill after stakeholder input. #MonitorUpdates 📹: @khalilmanzil1

Riding a bicycle may not be suffering in itself but if there are barriers that make learning harder or unsafe, its reasonable for people to step in. Support doesnt take away her resilience it strengthens her future. Let’s focus on what truly helps her grow
CHARLES RWOMUSHANA@rwomchechen

Just leave the young girl alone. You simply want to spoil her in your rubbish. If you want to assist her do so quietly. Mwiheho obushema. Who tells you that riding a bicycle to school is suffering? Sponsor? One who doesn't know the cost of breastfeeding and labour pains? Aima

This bill risks doing far more harm than good By criminalizing legitimate partnerships, remittances and civic engagement it threatens livelihoods, weakens essential services and isolates Uganda at a time when cooperation is critical. #RejectSovereigntyBill

📌📌 On Wednesday, the Ugandan government tabled another draconian bill. The Protection of Sovereignty Bill seeks to severely limit foreign involvement in politics, civic space, and the economy. Should the law pass, millions of Ugandans and Ugandan political parties, civic and
