Scalpel got to spend time with the Matrons + Lead Nurses.
They have come together this year to form a substantive team.
They have have worked very closely as a team; sharing the work load and supporting each other.

Today Scalpel has been to Elm Ward.
The staff are incredibly proud of the improvement in their mandatory training + appraisal compliance over the last year. The have also seen a reduction in falls having none in the last 2 months!

@TeamQEHSurgery @TeamQEH Scalpel needs to be careful eating too many sweets he will need to pay a visit to our dental department. Pleased to see that scalpel has seen the great work the team on Denver ward have been doing with the safer program and the increase of safe discharges for our patients.

After being found with his head in the treat jar, Scalpel made his way to Denver Ward to hear about how the ward team have been outstanding in their approach to the SAFER project, with record numbers of discharges on many occasions!

Very proud Matron moment today: our Orthopaedic specialist nursing team have launched their nurse led follow up clinics for patients treated for femoral fractures to ensure their recovery is going well. 18 months hard work has paid off!! @TeamQEHSurgery @TeamQEH
