So you just finished learning a skill three weeks ago and you're already looking for a remote job? Really? That’s not how it works, my dear. You have to spend time building your portfolio. You have to gather experience. You have to even start by volunteering or applying for internships. Your next move after learning a skill is not a remote job. It is gathering experience. A remote job means you’re working independently. So if you don’t have the skill or enough experience to work independently, how will you get a remote job? Tell yourself the truth. Go and volunteer somewhere my friend 🙄

Moniepoint headquarters is in the UK. 241 Southwark Bridge Road, London. But their operational base is in Lagos. So let’s call it what it is. They are hiring in Nigeria, paying in naira, while the headquarters sits in the UK. The CEO wakes up in London, goes to the office, grabs his morning coffee, pays rent in pounds… while the workforce powering the system is earning in naira. And the Customers are Nigerians Nice one. 🙂 Sometimes, just step back and understand the perspective of what is actually being said.

@tuminianalyst I forgot to add, show on online. Your online presence is as important as you skill. X and LinkedIn to be precise. It’s funny how people even value your post more than your resume because, your resume might be faked but not what you are building in public.

As Product designers you have a very strong tendency of also being a digital product manager. I’m currently the product designer and product manager of a certain app (Still under production) and honestly that was when I understood why companies hire project managers😅 Men having a product mtn is really important.

@tuminianalyst @andrewchen i would say - focus on the what/why. what decisions have you made or contributed to that shaped the product, vs the visual language? highlight those.

bullish on the PM role quietly becoming the most important role in tech again when anyone can build, the person who decides WHAT to build becomes the bottleneck

here’s a slightly different version of this take: I predict the role of the PM and designer will merge, and: 1) PMs who are only good at process will lose (far end of PM spectrum) 2) Designers who are only good at UI will lose (far end of design spectrum) 3) PMs and product designers who naturally obsess about the what and why and design the experience end to end will win

this 9-5 PR <<<<🤣 One would think it’s all the 9-5 that pays 500k monthly. By the time you finish your salary on transport/feeding in 2 weeks, and then you’ start collecting salary advance, so now you’re working and owing the company. You’ll sit your ass at home, and thug it out, learning skills to improve your life.

Ciel (aka Great Sage, Wisdom King Raphael) and Rimuru are the apex example of how HCI can look like. Jarvis/Tony do not even come close.
