“Why should Filipino families pay VAT on electricity they never consumed? Sen. Risa Hontiveros’ bill (SB 2076) removes VAT on systems loss charges—a burden unfairly passed on by electric companies. This reform means lower bills, fairer costs, and justice for households. It’s time to stop making consumers pay for inefficiencies. Support the call for #VATExemptionOnSystemsLoss. ⚡🇵🇭” @risahontiveros

‘PINAGBABAYAD NA NGA TAYO NG SYSTEMS LOSS NA HINDI NATIN NAPAKINABANGAN TAPOS PAGBABAYARIN PA TAYO NG BUWIS DITO’ READ: Senator Risa Hontiveros files a bill seeking to remove the value-added tax (VAT) on the systems loss charges being passed on to consumers. We must immediately end this unfair arrangement, especially now that electricity costs are going up,” Hontiveros said. She added that she is planning other legislative measures to help power consumers who have recently experienced bill shock. | @eimorpsantos

We call for a review of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001 (EPIRA Law or RA 9136) and the rules of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), which have made it legal for electric companies to charge "pass-through costs" to consumers.
