@BettingRugby999 Couldn’t agree with you more. That was my worry going into this game. Think the front row will be good enough even post TDT but the line-out needs work. .

Bath need top level second rowers. You can see the gigantic difference between Ewels and Roux, who both are good players, and Coleman who is world class.

In an ideal world we would but there’s a price to everything. We need to be competitive as an economy in the meantime. Our energy is the most expensive in the world for a developed nation. We have to allow the technology to address emissions whilst remaining an investable economy. Gilts now over 5 %, which is horrendous as nobody wants to invest in Uk- energy policy is a big part in this.

Gent in yellow, "I'm an engineer, a scientist by background, and what I really care about is energy" "And that's one of these things which I feel has been turned into a culture war" "So let me say one thing" "We know that heat pumps, insulation, EVs, etc can save half your energy usage" "It's a massive difference" "And Iran, while, and this is not just about climate change, we can use as a strategic reserve" "We can use that oil for aviation or AI data centres" "But we've got politicians here on the table today, I believe, who deny these facts" "And why should we platform you when we can save that money? The energy. The money" "And this also means that we're not paying the oil money to Russia, which uses it to strike Ukraine every day, and we pay again for defence missiles" "So it's a very serious question. And this is the science, this is the fact. You cannot say that that does not save half the energy."

Not sure I agree. I’m in the copper industry and have an understanding of how much copper and other critical minerals will be required to drive th electrification of the car fleet. We will get there but it won’t be soon. We won’t hit net zero by 2050 whatever else happens in the world, but technology is making leaps and bounds that will be a lot kinder to the environment, but it will take a lot of disruptive moves to get there. I’m not a proponent of shutting down our industrial base to shave 10-30 years off that timeline. As Elon Musk has said, we need to make significant changes, but the situation dictates that we do so on a timeline that is more than 50 years and less than 500 years. A lot of people would have you believe we have to stop using energy tomorrow or we are all doomed.

@turnbjames @implausibleblog I just watched a video of Mars. Meanwhile some of you have been saying “we can’t change overnight” for decades now to preserve an industry or way of like that is ruining wildlife and is heating up the planet rapidly. Future generations are screwed and you know it.

@afneil We are all a bit shocked by the battle readiness of UK naval forces but, whilst its capability may have receded notably since 1982 it’s still far more potent that Argentina with 2 aircraft carriers and Nuclear subs.

The Falklands are now defended by a substantial and well-armed British garrison, Typhoon jets and the formidable Sky Sabre air defence system. Plus provision for rapid reinforcements. None of that existed in 1982. There’s no way Argentina could just ‘walk in and take over.’
𝐍𝐢𝐨𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐠 🇮🇷 ✡︎@NiohBerg

Britain could lose the Falklands because of weak leadership. It's not the 80s anymore, there's no Thatcher in charge and the UK is a depressing shell of its former self. If Argentina simply walks in and takes over, possibly soon with Trump's approval, what exactly will Keir Starmer do? Send an angry worded letter? Would he even care at all?

The three favourites to replace Keir Starmer as Labour Leader are Angela Rayner, Ed Miliband and Wes Streeting. This is absolutely ridiculous. None of them are an improvement. They are all part of a failing government and tarnished Westminster swamp. If Labour are really serious about reconnecting with the public, they should completely reboot and go for Al Carns as their next leader. Ex Royal Marine, awarded the Military Cross, grew up in a working-class household in Aberdeen and is way more relatable and charismatic than the three stooge favourites for next Labour leader.

Several rumors are circulating today about possible developments in the Middle East. At this stage, they remain unconfirmed and originate from unclear sources. Given the sensitivity of the situation, I will report only verified information to avoid contributing to unnecessary anxiety.

CONFIRMED: Several US military bases are experiencing internal revolt as a huge number of soldiers are refusing to go to the battlefield and die for Israel. This will have a devastating impact on pentagon and the Whitehouse. Internal revolt is the first time to be experienced.

@GBNEWS Rather parochial and irrelevant debate to be fair. Clearly the majority of Iranians want the leadership to be overthrown. No idea who Jonathan is but, as he confesses to have no insight or knowledge of the situation or basis for the conflict, why have him on the show?

People keep saying the U.S. is now paying more for oil and gaining nothing from striking Iran. That’s simply wrong. The strategic benefits stack up fast. Here are 9 benefits to start: 1) Preemption – Iran was reportedly negotiating for advanced Chinese anti-ship missiles that could threaten U.S. aircraft carriers. Acting early prevents a far more dangerous battlefield later. 2) Contain China – Iran is one of Beijing’s key strategic partners in the Middle East. Weakening Tehran disrupts China’s regional network. 3) Secure Hormuz – The Strait of Hormuz carries roughly 20% of global oil flows. Greater control over this chokepoint means enormous leverage over global energy markets. 4) Signal to Gulf states – Saudi Arabia, the UAE and others quietly exploring Chinese weapons suddenly remember who actually provides regional security. 5) Deterrence demonstration – A decisive strike reminds rivals that the U.S. still dictates the rules of escalation. 6) Energy leverage over Asia – Japan and South Korea rely heavily on Middle Eastern oil passing through Hormuz, giving Washington additional strategic influence. 7) Pressure on China’s energy lifeline – Much of China’s imported oil also passes through the same chokepoint. 8) Reset Middle East balance – Weakening Iran reduces the influence of Tehran’s proxy networks across the region. 9) Global power signaling – The message travels far beyond Iran: the United States still has the ability to shape outcomes in critical theaters. Geopolitics isn’t sentimental. It’s strategic arithmetic.

I do think a better coaching set-up would get more form the players. Your point about club partnerships is valid- Dingwall and Freeman or Ojomod with Lawrence would surely help, but am not we see that, if ever. We do need a banger at 12. Ojomoh not massive but he is quick with wonderful hands so would be backing him personally. There many good players who Ireland and France would have brought on by now eg Ted Hill, Hendy. The attack is really poor - we saw the influence of Blackett last summer and we have seen the consequence of his absence at Bath this season. Why has he been shut out - not another Felix Jones debacle I hope!

@FogartyJack It's the same problem they've had since 2020, since the Saracens team faded away and only the Egg chasers guy has called it out. They do not have enough top-level players. The level of expectation is out of line with the level of talent they have available.

Genuine question, we all love to poke a bit of fun at England, why wouldn't you? But how would you fix it? Lots of injuries, no firm idea who their 10 is? Wingers - pace? Size? Centres - no consistently What are they doing with Freeman? Lad doesn't know where he's playing.

While I’m a massive fan of England losing, that huge penalty, when England were looking dangerous right at the end, looked like the Italian 6 came in from the side? Thoughts? #SixNations #ITAvENG
