@SBurnsBurner Even if you have a buddy as a caddie, just for a second set of 👀, it will get significantly easier. If you're flying solo, there could be a few big numbers on the card that could sabotage your round.

@laurbor2 I can support these claims. Granted, a long time ago. Wanted to work in sports my whole life. After 3.5 years of it, unusual job offer that I took not in sports. Best decision to get out. Go live your life.

Worked in college athletics for 10 years. My first year working in college athletics I missed 4 weddings of close friends and Thanksgiving. Went home for Thanksgiving for the first time in 5 years this year after leaving the sports field.

@alexSSN He was missing the glove by 2 feet. If he can't control the ball at 95-96, he's got a tough road ahead.

Luis Castillo losing a putaway pitch has really taken him to a concerning place. He doesn’t really seem able to pitch to manageable contact, and he certainly isn’t able to wipe out hitters anymore. He’s at an inflection point in his career, it feels like.

Very misleading to not mention in the tweet that Javan Buchanan doesn’t currently have any eligibility left. They may change the rule. He may win a lawsuit. But right now neither has happened. And that should be mentioned. 🤦‍♂️
Joe Tipton@JoeTipton

NEWS: Boise State transfer forward Javan Buchanan has committed to West Virginia, he told @On3. The 6-7 grad transfer averaged 12.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season. Earned All-Mountain West Honorable Mention honors. Represented by @GeorgeSLangberg of @GSLSportsGroup. on3.com/news/boise-sta…

5th Year & Transfer Portal ⁉️ If the NCAA grants everyone a 5th year, have athletes with limited stats & playing time really thought this through? Those veteran 5th year players will either stay or hit the portal — and take up a large chunk of available spots. Add in DI roster caps & incoming freshman… now the math gets tight. Have people put this together?

Golfers…we can beat ourselves up on the golf course leading to blow up holes! At the Masters, Robert MacIntyre was PUTTING for an eagle on #13 and he putted it OFF the green. If the best players on the planet can do this, give yourself some grace on your next missed putt! I promise your scores will start to drop! ⛳️ #golfmentalgame #golfmental

@TweetsbyCoachP It's 5 years of eligibility. College athletics isn't a career. It's about development. You mature as a 18-23 yr old enough to enter the "real world". Some will with comas in their bank account. Let the next youngster walk the path they carved. This is a good process.

The NCAA floating a “5-year window to play 4 seasons” isn’t random, at least not in my opinion. They have some logic to the process. This bakes in transfers, redshirts, possible mental health waivers, etc as a blanket one year build in. But here’s the problem… They’re trying to standardize something the courts keep saying is not theirs to fully control. Every time the NCAA draws a hard line on eligibility, someone challenges it under: • Restraint of trade • NIL earning limitations • Athlete employment arguments And they’ve been losing. (They did win an appeal yesterday that could possibly shift things slightly). A 5-year clock sounds clean on paper… Until a 24-year-old with eligibility left sues because they can still make money playing. Or a late bloomer argues their earning window was artificially shortened. Or a transfer-heavy athlete claims the system punished mobility. The NCAA is trying to patch a leaking roof with policy… While the foundation (amateurism) is being ripped up in court. This won’t be the final model. In my opinion, it is simply the next one to get challenged. And this is from someone that actually favors some of the reasoning behind it.

@TweetsbyCoachP So someone tears their ACL 3 times, they should still have 5 years? Sports are dangerous. Injuries happen. The next kid gets an opportunity. It's ok.

@AthleteDefender If you have life events that don't allow you to complete college in 5 years, that's called life. It isn't always fair. Life will go on and you have more memories to make in the next 40-80 years.

No waivers is a terrible idea. There is no one size fits all in life. People get sick, people have family circumstances, and extraordinary circumstances can arise. What if a student-athlete gets cancer while in school? No waiver for him or her? These extremes are ridiculous.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

The NCAA is exploring a significant change to its eligibility rule, sources tell @YahooSports. The proposal creates an age-based standard: Athletes would have 5 years of eligibility from their 19th birthday or HS graduation. No redshirts or waivers. bit.ly/3POqo2D

The Big League Approach
Why are we constantly posting MPHs? Do you get extra points if you have a higher EV? We all want to hit it hard but the goal should be to get on base however we hit the ball. The constant need to chase EV is ruining hitters! It’s over swinging! @MLB
Nationals Communications@NationalsComms

James Wood's 1st inning single was hit 116.0 MPH, the hardest hit ball of the season by Wood. Where it ranks in MLB this season: Ketel Marte - 116.9 (Out) Junior Caminero - 116.9 (Single) Giancarlo Stanton - 116.3 (Single) Jac Caglianone - 116.1 (Single) James Wood - 116.0 (Single)

@taylorrozantz I'd argue athletes are given a bonus year for staying healthy. If you're injured, it's ok, get yourself healthy and get back on the field of play next year. It does suck if injured in your 5th yr. But life isn't always fair. 5 years to get a degree(s) isn't a bad thing either.
