I find this thought problematic Virat Kohli is an athlete par excellence and is subject to some form of proving form and fitness relative to others who are vying for a space in the team. I don’t see anything wrong with what Gambhir and Agarkar said for Test Match cricket. Virat was having a prolonged lean run, and was given the long rope like Pujara and Rahane who were senior players. In the white ball scheme of things, specifically in ODI’s, I think Virat has a valid point, seeking clarity on what the selectors want of him. Virat bosses that format and has always been around to play in 2027, with focus on fitness and form. It was good to see him play VHT. While having exceptions for elite athletes is something that can be seen, I agree that you need to have a fairly uniform system to decide who gets selected and why. If at all one has to blame Gambhir and Agarkar, it has to be on conflicting communication, when it came to Rohit and Virat. The situation could have been managed better x.com/Adityakrsaha/s…
