@FriedgeHNIC If they tie by differential, then USA got at least 10 goals in the game, so they would have at least 21 goals for, and USA would win that tie breaker. But USA is not going to win by 10.

Canada beats France 10-2, finishes round-robin with a goal differential of +17 USA enters Germany game later tonight at +7. To take top seed from Canada would need to win by at least 10. If they equal` in differential, second tiebreaker is goals for. Canada locked in at 20. USA starts tonight at 11.

@NHLBruins Hey, marketing/graphics team, consider lowering the goalie list in order to separate them from the D. ie:

I've been informed that this is a bad idea. I should use `switkh` instead.

To avoid using a keyword when I need something that should be named `switch`, I've been using `switch_`. But I think in honor of the "Use `klass` to refer to the concept of a class" idiom, I should be using `swich`.

@googlemaps how about a safety option for walking directions that tries to stick to well lit and heavily trafficked paths instead of dimly lit paths and back alleys.

Another one is "could this be not a pointer" ie sometimes I see a raw pointer so I try to make it a unique_ptr and by the time I'm done I realize it could be not a pointer at all.

One that isn't always simple, but sometimes is doable: - make functions pure (return a result, have no side-effects)

What are some good simple coding habits, like - declaring variables where they are first used Maybe habits that you do when trying to fix/understand code and your first step is to just declutter and clean and once you are done the code suddenly is easy to understand.

@basilyusuf1709 @blelbach We make projectors BTW, we typically bounce the photons off a screen first. Laser photons straight to the eye are not recommended

@CppSage @ericniebler but the queen of clubs has to live outside the deck. It is dealt into your hand, then played onto the table, etc. Are those methods of deck?

@tvaneerd @ericniebler The same exact way you maintain any other invariant. This is not at all special. Mutating operations on the object are written to not violate the invariants upon return/exception (and those functions can have preconditions).

Any C++ type that has a moved-from state should also be default-constructible into that state.

@tvaneerd @ericniebler That's a strange assertion. There is nothing wrong with copying a "queen of clubs". A deck may have an invariant that there are no duplicates, but that's a property of a *deck*, entirely separate from copyability. Copying a card, or an entire deck is perfectly meaningful.
