NEW: Auburn outfielder Cade Belyeu hits a home run just hours after his mother Staci lost her life following a long battle with cancer. Unsure if Belyeu would be able to play that day, coach Butch Thompson called Belyeu’s father before the game. Belyeu’s father said his wife would have wanted her son to play. “He said Staci wanted him to play. I think it was the most inspiring thing we've ever seen,” Thompson said. “Our crowd is just amazing. They absolutely sensed and knew what was going on with him. An inspiration by Cade Belyeu.”
