@magattew Good question! However, what you're asking relates primarily to economic migrants and not the large numbers of forcibly displaced and refugees. Most of those are facing persecution and violence which is why they are leaving. Many of those would stay or even go back, if possible.

The immigration solution no one is talking about: Instead of focusing on walls or open doors, I suggest that we ask a different question: “What does it take for people to want to stay home?”
