"This constant lying is not aimed at making the people believe a lie, but at ensuring that no one believes anything anymore. A people that can no longer distinguish between truth and lies cannot distinguish between right and wrong. And such a people, deprived of the power to think and judge, is, without knowing and willing it, completely subjected to the rule of lies. With such a people, you can do whatever you want." - Hannah Arendt (14 October 1906 – 4 December 1975) German historian and philosopher

Took my 16 year old to look at cars today. At first he loved the Toyota Camry we looked at, but when he saw the seats were cloth he hard vetoed it. They have another one with leather seats, but it’s an XLE and costs $5k more. How can I change his mind so I can save some money?

@BacLeodiv I guide and watch everything it does from VS Code. This is what will distinguish experienced developers. Don’t believe the vibe code hype. I’m still 10x faster than before

Is anyone still using editors like VS Code, or is everyone just prompting AI to write everything now? am I the only one?

@asaio87 Same. I think they are busy giving it full permissions and letting it commit code and running multiple agents. I do one well defined task/feature/bug at a time and it is 99% good

Don't know why people say AI code is spaghetti On all the projects I worked with ai agents, the code is just fine, works fine, passes all tests Maybe it's my great prompts ?

@svpino I agree. I am super fast using ai to do one thing at a time. I don’t want the cognitive load of supervising an army

I don’t believe people who say they are running “12 parallel coding agents”. Either they are lying for clicks, or I’m a complete retard who can barely keep up with a single Claude instance.

@ParikPatelCFA 🙄I guess it’s good I am a woman who codes. I like it in vs code. Instant context. I get to watch what it does. I get to read the docs we create right there. I can open the built in terminal and go on side quests. I can highlight code for it to look at.

I think so but natural is the only correct answer. If you can’t endure a half a day of being uncomfortable, you’re not ready for the sacrifice that is motherhood. Dosing your baby with fentanyl for your own selfish comfort is not what a mother should do. Granted I know most are ill informed & don’t have any clue how bad epidurals are but again, not ready for motherhood if you can’t be botherded to do basic research.

My biggest challenge with vibe coding / agentic engineering lately has been getting stuck in what I call a "plan doom loop" - have AI write a plan - review myself, seems good - have AI review plan, it always finds something - repeat It drains my time and energy to determine how important the "findings" really are Who has solved this

@AngelMD1103 This is where I think alimony should kick in. In Texas is is just 50:50, no account ting for income, just very low child support. Alimony would be appropriate in the case where one has no income or career.

This is the part nobody talks about…💔 She gave over 10 years of her life. staying home, raising kids, building a family, supporting her husband while he worked, and built his career. That was the deal. That was the life. And then, just like that… he wants a divorce. Now everything changes overnight. No job. No income. No car. No backup plan. Just reality hitting all at once. That’s what makes this so heavy… While one person walks away with stability, the other is left trying to figure out how to survive from zero. It’s not just a breakup it’s starting life over with nothing. Situations like this make people question everything, trust, roles, and what “security” really means. So be honest… is this just an unfortunate situation, or is this exactly why relying on someone else financially can be dangerous? And do you think stay-at-home parents deserve stronger protection in cases like this?
Dr. CZ@AngelMD1103

This hits differently than you’d expect… A man shared how grocery shopping feels after his divorce, and it’s not about the food at all. He said after four years of marriage, something as simple as walking through the store now feels… empty. No more “what do you want for dinner?” No more grabbing things for someone else. No more little routines that used to feel normal. Now it’s just quiet aisles, one cart, and choices that only affect him. It’s crazy how the smallest, everyday things can change the most after something like that. What used to feel routine now feels completely different. Do you think moments like this are the hardest part of moving on, and have you ever experienced something simple that suddenly felt different after a big life change?

They are a temporary bandaid. Long term side effects and getting off is a bitch. The way they tell you to wean off is a lie. I could only wean off with a very slow taper that no doctor will acknowledge. Some are worse to get off that others. A missed dose is a bitch. It can make sleep worse. Sex worse. Paranoia worse.

Boomers don't want to hear this, but one of the (many) reasons why my generation isn't having as many kids? A lot of millennials feel they can't depend on their parents for help the way they saw their own grandparents pitch in when they were growing up

I will say, that even in 1996, a single income household was unreachable. I was married to a teacher. So maybe you say, earn more? But the world needs teachers. So, that level of income cannot run a household. There is no budget in which that calculates even rent plus food. So I worked and had an even worse paying job. I once calculated that my paycheck Monday - Thursday paid daycare. Well, that Friday pay at least bought food. Please do tell your solution.

The idea that child care costs 400 thousand dollars a year is, of course, totally insane. She inflated the cost by about 2,500 percent. Even if she meant that families have to earn 400 thousand a year to afford child care, it's still insane. Not remotely true. Also: one really great way to avoid child care costs, which are much lower than what this person claims, is to have the mother stay home and raise her own children. We are the first society in human history to decide that both the man and the woman should leave the home every day. It is a radical break from what every other society on the planet since the beginning of human civilization has done. Turns out our new system just doesn't work. Oh well. Rather than adjust to that reality, the leftist solution is to give up on having kids entirely. They would literally rather usher in the extinction of the human race than do something that makes feminists upset. Absolute psychopaths.

🚨 Do you understand what just happened to Anthropic.. someone on their team ran a production build of Claude Code.. the compiler generated a .map file.. which is literally a blueprint that reverses the entire codebase back to its original source.. and then they published it straight to npm for the whole world to download.. it's like locking every door in your house.. installing cameras.. hiring armed guards.. then accidentally uploading your floor plans to Google Maps.. this is the same company that told Congress AI is an existential threat.. the same company that spent $8 billion building "the most safety-focused lab on earth".. the same company the Pentagon blacklisted as a "supply chain risk" because they were supposedly TOO principled.. and they got exposed by a config file that any mid-level engineer would've caught in a code review..
