Exciting, terrifying, and layered story replete with fascinating, flawed characters whose eccentricities and passions make it impossible to put them in neat little politically correct boxes. Come for the chase, stay for the singular, creative vision.

One of the best movies ever. it taps into the neurosis of every single group of people. conservatives think its too woke, black people think its too racist, 4channers think its reddit slop, leftists think its not left enough, there’s no one likeable enough for your coworker.

The Toronto Film Critics Association censored Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers’s pro-Palestinian speech. Since then, a third of its membership has left. vulture.com/article/toront…

I hate cinephile Halloween costumes, what do you mean you’re going to Game Seven as the guy from AFIRE?

@FilmComment @MiriamBale @adam_piron Piron had some interesting insights on Indigenous characters in contemporary film. Most of the people I've spoken to thought the film was a barn burner and enjoyed its shifts in tone and narrative foci. That's storytelling folks!

@Victoria59L @CTVNews if indigenous are "nations", why is the responsibility of the Canadian nation to provide water to other nations?

@VeldonCoburn "some will fight": veiled threat? If she's referring to a legal fight, then she should go to law school not parliament because her ignorance is showing

They asked me to do a land acknowledgement. I wrote a 4500-word peer-reviewed article on the limitations of the land acknowledgement instead. doi.org/10.1177/117718…

@TheDHTaylor I've recommended it to students in a 4th year course for final essays on land politics, satire, and activism. It's brilliant!

Okay, this is bizarre. The published version of my play, COTTAGERS & INDIANS, for some unknown reason, originally published in 2019, has popped up on the Toronto Star's Bestsellers list. For the first time. I am absolutely delighted... though a little puzzled.

It's a terrific opportunity to learn about Temagami First Nation history and culture from local Knowledge Holders and meet students from other participating universities, such as Trent, Carleton, York, and U of T.
