Elizabeth Street Garden is one of the most beautiful parks in NYC and the only park in SoHo. Next week, the city plans to sell it to a builder for $1, and it’s set to become a homeless shelter. If someone wanted to destroy a neighborhood, it’s hard to imagine a better plan than this. Please ask @NYCMayor to reconsider this sale.

@hollowearthterf There is pretty clear data on this. Eating later in the day and at night doubles the amount of time your blood sugar stays elevated after a meal.

I think the sun regulates your blood sugar; if I just sit outside after a meal and don’t even walk I notice I don’t feel tired after eating. I wonder how much lack of sunlight and being inside all the time contributes to metabolic dysfunction.

API cost on most peptides at chinese GMP scale is genuinely $5-30/g. that med spa $500 line item is paying for cGMP fill-finish, USP <797> compounding, sterile env, COA testing, liability, and a 503A pharmacy markup. also why "research grade" and "pharma grade" diverge in price by 50x. it's not all margin tho — sterile is real cost.

Peptides should cost like $20. How long until the efficient market kicks in now that everything is legal?

@pitdesi The root culprit is 3rd world immigration not our bad form of democracy

Everyone is getting this wrong: The politicians in California are pretty terrible, but you can't blame them for the wealth tax... they actually killed the idea 2 years ago. Our uniquely bad form of direct democracy is the actual culprit. Democratic Socialist assemblyman Alex Lee introduced the wealth tax in Sacramento (AB 259) 2 years ago. It was not popular, it actually did not even make it to a vote. It was deemed too leftist even for the California legislature. So why is it back? California's uniquely bad form of direct democracy lets you bypass the legislature if you get enough signatures... You can put almost anything on the ballot if you get signatures. That is what the SEIU-UHW, the healthcare workers union did. Union leadership spearheaded this initiative and funded the campaign directly to collect signatures for the wealth tax. They collected signatures by going around asking if people want more money from billionaires to fund hospitals, healthcare, food aid, and schools... naturally people said yes without realizing the consequences. The only major currently elected official from California that supports it is Ro Khanna. My guess from seeing his support on twitter is that Ro decided to support it without understanding it and then dug his heels in for some stupid reason (he actually acknowledged that it is bad as written). Tom Steyer and Saikat Chakrabarti who are running for office also support it (we need to do everything we can to oppose them). I can't believe I'm defending California politicians, but remember - they actually rejected a wealth tax. This is a union-backed ballot initiative trying to go around them.

Room temp IQ politicians in California looked at the greatest entrepreneurial ecosystem in the world and said “fuck it, let’s blow it up”.

Terrible advice from Clav. Potentially worse than hitting your head with a hammer somehow. I wonder how many people saw those numbers and thought this was a starting or even normal dose. I think in the clip he actually says 12mg but I could be wrong. Minimum effective dose is the goal with Reta or any GLP-involved medication. It’s so potent you likely don’t need more than a couple mg per week if that. Shredmaxx dont dosemaxx

Alarming how bad @lyft is at fraud detection. It logged a ride from SFO to SF in 3 minutes. The driver never picked me up but claimed he did and I got charged. It should auto-flag an error. When I complained that I didn’t get picked up they sided with the driver Wtf

On top of Another 600,000 New Yorkers live in project housing or on section 8. This is why the middle class can't send their kid to public school in NYC and instead flees for the suburbs.

Last weekend, I met a guy who is living in a two-bedroom apartment at 70th and Broadway for $2380. That would cost ~$10k on the free market. So the man essentially gets $7k/month from his landlord, mandated by the state government. Rent control is why the rent is so high.

@typesfaster I thought it was a known fact that the cumulative global reported exports exceed the global imports, due to under invoicing by importers to pay less in duties.

Last year China reported exporting $112 billion more to the U.S. than the U.S. reported receiving. This trend started immediately after tariffs were announced. If trade data can be off by $112B, I wonder what other macro truths we taking at face value that are totally manipulated.
