Happy to finally publish a site I've been working on for a while now: arewelegacycomputingyet.com It's a status tracker for terminal emulator support and explainer the Symbols For Legacy Computing unicode block. It really expands the set of cool things we can do in the terminal!

OCaml's WASM support is amazing! Just a single config tweak, and CAMLBOY is running on WASM instead of JS—and it's 30% faster on my machine. Huge props to the wasm_of_ocaml team for the fantastic work!

Okay I did it guys, I found the one (1) singular cracked frontend dev. He made Jane Street’s UI library. “I was interested in finding a way to render sine wave interference patterns” “Bonsai structures its components as a directed acyclic graph, rather than a tree (like React)”

Signed distance functions (SDFs) are fundamental tools in graphics, vision, and physics simulation. But how do you get a high-quality SDF from messy, real-world input? At #SIGGRAPH2024, we introduced a simple method for turning "broken" geometry into a well-behaved SDF. <🧵>

OCaml is a functional programming language, and means that if you want to early-return from a function or break out of a loop, you get to choose between using exceptions for control flow and littering your code with mutable references
