This is a me problem. But I just really dislike the idea of drafting a safety in the top 2 rounds. I think there are so many guys to be found in the mid rounds, and one of the hardest positions to reliably scout.

@ButkusStats I’m not only looking at safeties right now, but I’m coming around to the idea of linebacker or corner at 25. I am 100% on board with BPA w/some weight given to positional need.

@ButkusStats I think you know my preference by now. All things equal, I want trenches early and often. However, I just have so many questions about this year‘s batch of DL at 25. The guys that I have the most faith in as prospects don’t seem to fit DA’s preferred mold.

@ChiSportsSteve @ErikLambert1 I’m a DL/OL guy through and through, hated taking Gordon/Brisker w/first two picks of Poles first draft, but there’s a real chance that at 25, the best DL prospect available might be 2 grade levels below the best S/LB/CB available. In that scenario, take the best football player.

@timeforjeffrey He would have to work hard to be a much more consistent edge setter to fit DA’s profile at the position, imo. If it were me, I would draft him. But my preferences for the position aren’t similar to Allen‘s.

Malachi Lawrence is the EDGE in this class that I could see being drafted above a few (or a bunch) of the names we see regularly in the mid-late first round in mocks.
