@morepellent @ironmikeluke No way. Just pointing out Arizona strength vs K State weakness. Officials appeared to me that they got tired of calling fouls on K St. Either way - AZ played well and won going away.

@Bridgetek2022 @ironmikeluke 01 team was amazing. But Salim and Channing were not on that team.

I might still take this team over the 98 team them to be honest. And probably nipping on the heals of that 01 team. I think this team plays better defense than the 98 team and has a strong edge on the interior + rebounding. The 01 team was spectacular. Went back and watched that game against Duke and am still baffled at how they lost that game. I can’t for the life of me understand why Lute chose to start off and play zone that game. Probably the biggest coaching blunder of his career. There was so much scrambling and missed assignments. It totally killed Arizona’s ability to establish a defensive rhythm. So that when they eventually switched to play man 2 man, guys were confused on rotations, late to close out. It was a disaster. That 01 team had freshman Salim, Luke Walton, Rick Anderson, Eugene Edgerson, AND freshman Channing Frey off the bench. Crazy. But I think that team’s weakness was getting into a Rhythm and playing defense at the level of this year’s team. It’s close for me. But I think this year’s team just plays better overall. Let’s see what happens.

@morepellent @ironmikeluke Fair - K St leads the Big 12 in fouls. K St also has attempted less FT’s than their opponents this season. Arizona has made more FT’s than its opponents have attempted. K St still fouled more times than they were called. All of this can be true.

@uaryno @ironmikeluke Probably not the game to harp on that since k states entire gameplan was to shove us in the back every time we got in the paint and we shot 40 free throws because of it, krivas shooting 12 of those

@ironmikeluke @morepellent Listen to my comment in context - I was referring to how difficult it is to officiate big men. Mo was getting hammered but fouls weren’t called. Shaq was notorious for getting fouled & calls weren’t made. Bigs don’t go to the ground when they get hit…but they’re still fouled.
