@SlimJim_Pickens @chaeluuna @radicaltart @MourningScholar That's exactly my point, if y'all really wanna say he cares so much for interpretation he'd cry a river if a joke doesn't get localized correctly he can hire a team for it do it the way his "invaluable" "untouchable" and "amazing" narrative view deserves.

@chaeluuna @ubemvu @radicaltart @MourningScholar you take into consideration that if he cares so much as he says he'd take wrong translations down and hire a professional team with constant feedback to keep amateurs from ravaging his work.

the whole thing just boils down to the chauvinism of the petit bourgeois 'artist' and their freeloading off the commons. oh no you won't sponsor a professional, adequate translation of your work, but you will 'graciously' accept the unpaid labor of your foreign fans

@SlimJim_Pickens @radicaltart @MourningScholar The narrative I keep seeing is "he cares so deeply that he won't do it" since he doesn't know the language, so wrong fan translations are free to just go in the wild for half the fanbase, but it doesn't make any sense if we take such deep care for interpretation as truth.

@SlimJim_Pickens @radicaltart @MourningScholar Not like I personally care anyways, but this entire parasocial shit appearing on my feed from people defending toby fox with their life twisting him into a poor indie dev with no money or time that is "incapable" of hiring a team and supervising is stupid as hell. Caring or not.

@radicaltart @MourningScholar To be fully fair tho, if he seems to care so much about the interpretation of his games yet allows implied wrong translations to fly around from the community I don't think he's doing a great job at keeping his vision. The whole "caring" narrative doesn't make much sense when-

Yeah I think I'm not going to continue playing Marathon. For a game that I was already critical about but with hopes of it improving because it was fun, I don't think it is anymore. Cryo is aids to play and I don't see anything else that's interesting to continue.

@Greenpig117 The friends I played with stopped playing. I bought the game for one of them... Honestly just find people who play marathon already, getting someone to like marathon is kind of a massive task. Or just play solos, it's kind of enjoyable sometimes.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey entirely true as like half items you need to craft something valuable isn't, it is exactly the point I was making. I'm not talking about how many jumps you do when you pick a purple shield. I'm talking about the economy in the game. That's the point since the beginning.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey Your point was "No item in marathon is useless". In fact most items in marathon are useless the moment you find a better one, the worse one has no value. Arc at least has a crafting system that in your own words "every item can be crafted with a lesser item". Even if it's not-

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey You're very defensive for no reason. I also don't care about your hours, you lack a basic understanding on economy in extraction shooters, you don't understand inflation and you think money is hype. I can't do anything to change your mind, you don't understand either game.

@ubemvu @katie_dey I have 300 hours and a max vault with nothing to do, it's just a fact that the looting is very mid. Cope.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey You can't craft magnets, processors, batteries, sensors. All items needed to craft. I don't think you played Arc Raiders that much, and I don't think you understand extraction shooter economy. Sure tho, self revives being accessible by the common currency of money is hype ig.

@ubemvu @katie_dey You can craft durable cloth with fabric, everything can be crafted with a lesser item, there's literally no need to loot for good shit because you can craft it. There's no loot in the game worth finding that you can't craft.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey I'm not going to lie to you, if you decide to not engage with the crafting, run misery kits forever, stack up on fabric and just heal with bandages, I simply think that's you failing to progress through the game.

@ubemvu @katie_dey I had over 1K fabric after like 1 week of playing, same goes for the other materials, those recyclables never get touched after the first week and there's multiple avenues for acquiring materials it's so unnecessary for them to be inside every container.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey The linearity of the item economy in Marathon might look super cool for someone who hasn't played Tarkov tbh, but I can instantly tell that there's just better items. The moment a better item comes across you have no incentive to keep or do anything with the worse item.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey I always recycle them, specially ruined parachute, as crafting green herbals takes a lot of cloth. That's the entire point, even items you think don't have any value by themselves, they are called recyclables for a reason.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey The economy in Marathon is actually my biggest complain about the game, if you have enough money things don't matter that much, because you can just get 99% of things with money. In Arc even those with massive inventories still NEED to get in raid to gather items for kits.

@NotTheFrogs @katie_dey Valuables. In marathon they're automatically sold at the end of a match. In Arc Raiders some valuables are still used for certain upgrades or projects. Most items have some value for crafting or recycling. If Arc did anything better is the fact that items matter for your kits.

Man, Marathon getting filled with cheaters makes me lose hope for PC gaming integrity. I knew BE was ass, but I chose to believe the extra measures they marketed for Marathon. Turns out it was all useless in the end anyways. Anticheats gotta be placebo software.

@ottrTweets I talked about this when ranked was getting hyped. The tarkov rivals was super bad, I don't know how anyone would see that and think it's fun. Glad to say we now have a ranked mode that's just permanently unfun. I blame those wanting it to be like tarkov, but haven't played it.
