When I first saw the story trailer, no one was more hyped by this shot than me. I was so disappointed that there wasn't a Godwyn boss fight the first time I played Elden Ring. But then I played it again and realized how wrong I was.

Godwyn's role in the narrative was always to lean into the more cosmic horror-adjacent aspects of Elden Ring. Godwyn is not *only* a tragedy that cannot be undone, he has merged with the roots of the Erdtree and become an unceasing mechanism of the world.

@virtualpigeons Should’ve been Godwyn in my opinion Miquella could’ve used the soulless corpse as the figure head of his new age. Could’ve made for a cool/ interesting second phase if you went the prince of death route with it

You kinda forget how busted passive health regeneration was in World and Rise until you go back to them after playing Wilds
You basically don't need health or max potions for anything. Including Alatreon if you're a swaxe player
